Naked faces alert!, what’s your Christmas countdown and Mick Hucknall CD auction

16

Debbie with Stacey Schieffelin and the ybf ladiesThis week…
- On TV without make-up – ybf style!
- Signed Mick Hucknall CD auction
- What do you put down YOUR bra – another funny blooper from recent shows
- And am I the only one indulging in Christmas fever?

Naked faces – it must be Stacey!
Yes, ybf was back in town this week, with another fab airing featuring Stacey Schieffelin and her trademark naked face at the start of the hour!

Well, if you saw last Saturday Night's Gifts show, Dale challenged me to do my Monday hour also starting makeup-free. Never one to resist, I did! Well, I'd ended Liz Earle shows before now, by removing all my makeup with Cleanse & Polish, so why not! Lol. Here's a little of what happened.

But suffice it to say, I was pretty glad to get to about half-past and feel not so scary! If you saw it what did you think? I know it's way past Hallowe'en, so apologies in advance for scaring everyone! Lol.

And if you're a ybf lover, tell us what you think about this excellent quality but very affordable range. I think the Hot Pick kit – 'Empower Your Beauty' collection – with more than 30 different elements – is still available in the little vanity case – so do get it for a £33 pressie!

Countdown to Christmas – what's yours?
Winter walkOK, so I know it's only the third week of November, but I have to say – am I the only one sitting playing Christmas CDs or Christmas movies, burning Chistmas Yankee Candles, and wrapping presents or doing cards? This was the question I asked this week on my Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/DebbieFlintQvcUk#!/DebbieFlintQvcUk ) and got dozens of replies!

So what's your answer? Where are you at right now with the Christmas preparations? And what are you listening to? Old school music? Or 70s? Or classical? Or what?!

Blooper
Had a funny show with Stacey for sure, and another fab weekend of hi-tech shows, which included this dotty moment from one of Mat Trim's airings of the superb value Sony camera – just had to share it with you, considering the feedback I had on Twitter afterwards! (https://twitter.com/debbieflint)

So where do you put YOUR gadgets? Ahem! Or… what else do you store down your bra?! It's not such a funny question – we all do it – don't we? Or is it just me that's weird? Lol.

Auction – win a signed Mick Hucknall CD
Signed Mick Hucknall CDOoo – oo – a little newsflash! For anyone who LOVES Mick Hucknall, as you know we had him in on our Saturday Night Gifts show a few weeks back (go here for previous blog, featuring songs and chat!)

Well, he kindly signed a CD for me, with his name, in biro (see pic left). And I've decided to give it to Helen Martin's BCC auction – it'll be live on my Facebook page this Sunday – or you can put in a bid to Helen via her email, which is martin.57bb@yahoo.com

At the time of writing, the current highest bid is £25 – so tell your Simply Red loving pals, and bid away! And thanks to Mick, it's a brilliant charity to support, and he was very game when he visited us. See below for fab news of this week's (25th November) music guest!

Snippets
- Three Facebook funnies for you this week – I just HAD to show you what's been circulating online – the amazingly 'Jar Jar Binks-like' Weimaraner; the Pinterest lizard – love the caption; and the uplifting joyous pic of the lovely little elephant having a shower! Thought they'd make you smile!

Linda, Lauren, Debbie and Goody at the Sally Morgan show- Went to see Sally Morgan with the girls – went to the Wimbledon show on Sunday – with lovely pal Goody, sis Linda, daughter Lauren and niece Jodie – a family affair! No personal readings, but another very entertaining show for sure!

She's still on tour so if you fancy it – hurry and book, she may be at a theatre near you. And if you have any other similar shows to recommend, do leave a comment below.

Cydney Mar on QVC- Let us count the ways… with the Cydney Mar lace top. As promised on air, here's the link to the video Cydney mentioned during her final hour with me on Wednesday – showing you how to adapt the long stretch lace shawl top.

What a lovely range of clothing! And what a versatile piece to add to your wardrobe! Check online, those 1st anniversary prices may still be available. The lace top you need to get to be able to wear it all these different ways is item 103270 – the long sections at the sides enable you to play around with your look. For more hints, also see the  'sell' Cydney and I did – it can be watched if you click on the 'video' tab on the qvcuk.com page for this item. Fab piece!

Sing Date advert- And finally – I spotted this ad for a new series on telly, for which they need contestants. Are you single, and can you sing? Any other year I'd have possibly entered… well, in another life maybe!

Anyway, do let me know if you enter – the info is all on the pic, if you click on it you'll see the email address! So come on you ladies who have talked to me previously about being single – go for it! Just give me the gossip after! Hehe!

Footnotes
WATCH - some new TV for you this week – with the return of 'The Hour', for its second series on BBC2. Good thing is, you can catch up with it on iPlayer, if you're quick! Go here for the interview/scene setting trailer, and then watch the show itself! If you've seen it, tell me what you like about it below, by leaving me a comment below.

Yes, one of my favourites, Ben Whishaw, returns amongst an experienced cast, for another helping of 1950s newsroom drama and comedy. Now I love period pieces, (am currently watching 'Bomb Girls', too) and this one doesn't disappoint. Plus – am soooo proud – my composer pal (of some 30 years) Kevin Sargent, wrote the new score, and gives a little interview about how he did it on a BBC blog here -  featuring lots of clips from the music. I love the 'News Programme' theme! Fascinating! Well done Kev!

Spelt pizzasEAT - haven’t done one of these features for a while, so thought I'd show you a pizza to be proud of! Made it myself – (well, 'assembled' it!) – this week. It's a spelt base – with lots and lots of healthy vegetables, along with a little chicken for my dinner partner, and some small tofu chunks for me. It was delicious!

Have to say tho', although I eat mostly vegan, I did enjoy a little nibble of our Green Seasons 5.3kg festive meat selection when it appeared in my 1am show at the weekend!  ;-) The thing I love about Marlene Watson-Tara's macrobiotics eating plan is that it's OK to be 80/20. I like the 20, but I do love how the 80% fresh veggies and salads make me feel. In fact, I read this week about how it's an anti-ageing diet too! Result! (More on that next week, when I'll have the final reminder of Marlene's talk – Friday 7th December, 7-9pm, in Dorking – it'll be a fun night and looking forward to Craigy coming too!)

QVC - sooooo exciting – this weekend's Saturday Night Gifts Show features… none other than Mel C! The ex-Sporty Spice herself, singing and appearing live. Watch out for behind the scenes mischief with Will, and lots of other great gift ideas for you in the run up to Christmas.

And early alert – the week after, there are rumours that 'La Barrowman' may be making a reappearance! Also the same night – December 1st – we'll have the biggest TSV of the Christmas season, with a full advance look at the new Elemis Christmas pack. Book it in your diary now if you can! 8pm onwards…

Antthony Designs Devore Edge to Edge Cardigan & Sleeveless TopPlus this week coming up, don't miss the return of lovely Antthony – my fabulous mate from LA, with his new Today's Special Value all day on Tuesday 27th – here's a sneaky peek – a versatile two piece set again. I have two shows with him on Tuesday evening and I can't wait!

Have a fab week, and do drop me a little comment below, it's always lovely to get your input on my topics above!

Best wishes,
Debs

OK Debbie, I admit it, burning the yummy christmas cookie in yankee candle tart warmer, watching copious amounts of christmas films(when other half and kids go to bed), written christmas cards in special gold pen and itching to get christmas tree out of loft. I’m so glad to know that I’m not alone in my christmas madness.

Always on my left side defo iPhone, coins, keys, I’ve been known to have hospital letters, cash card, and even once had a Cadburys creme egg down there a little too long! My dad (who recently passed away) used to call it my safe as I always used it like that and he was old fashioned and didnt like to say down my bra! X

Always great reading your blog, note to other presenters who haven’t updated theirs since September, at least! Ha.
Surprised ‘LaBarrowman’ wasn’t there for the Thornton’s TSV, ha, lots of chocs to steal away there. Perhaps he was there in spirit! Yeah we spotted you trying out the Green Seasons.
My niece used to put her mobile down her bra, told her to stop, it’s not good for you!

Hi Debs. You have reminded me that, in the olden days of real hankies, matronly women with huge bosoms used to tuck their hankie down their bra.
I wonder how many people still use real hankies? When i lived In Hong Kong, I remember the older Chinese used to think it was pretty disgusting that we Westerners blew our noses then thrust our hankie in our pocket. They used to just hold their nose with two fingers and blow their nose onto the ground!

Haha! Sounds to me like those women wouldve got on well with some footballers! I used to go stand on the sidelines to watch relatives play when the kids were small, and was similarly agog at how some of the players would ‘clear their noses’ with two fingers! Fine except if they wore a moustache! Lol.
Hong kong days mustve been fascinating tho eh!

    Debs,
I saw “Skyfall”. You’re so right, I enjoyed it after getting over the “sad loner” phase at the beginning! I haven’t been to the cinema for years and now I’m looking forward to going again. x
