Myface guest, Chris Dennis, talks about the new make-up collection

Chris Dennis - MyfaceToday we are bringing you a fabulous make-up collection from Myface, which includes everything you need to create a full make-up look. And better still, it's brand-new to QVC!

QGossip caught up with the guest make-up artist, Chris Dennis, who'll be gracing our screens for the Myface launch. Here he tells us all about the TSV…

Tell us about Today's Special Value and why you love it…

There's such a buzz about Myface – celebrities are talking about it, celebrity make-up artists are talking about it and beauty editors are taking about it. They're not only talking about it but USING it.

Today I'm showing you the 'IT kits’. Every single product in these kits is designed to work with a specific skin tone (light, medium, medium dark). Not only will every item suit your skin tone, but also work together as a full make-up look.

I hear stories all the time about women who have bought a lipstick because they are attracted by the colour, or blusher because it matches a jumper or necklace, but when they put in on, not only does it not match their skin tone but it also doesn't work with the rest of  their make-up. With these kits, once you know your skin tone you have no guess work left – it's fool-proof.  It really is that simple.

Take a look at what can be achieved with the Myface collection…

Fair Medium Medium dark

What would be your advice for application?

Myface TSV With the Myface products it's fingers all the way. The ultra lightweight foundation goes on perfectly when blended into your skin using just your fingers, giving a full, flawless finish with the appearance and feel of no make-up on the skin.

What's your favourite product in the kit?

It has to be the Bling-tone eyeshadows – they're a real glamour pop for all eyes. The eyeshadows have an intense glamorous foil-effect finish - not glitter, foil! They are buildable so you can create a simple wash or a dramatic smoke effect. Also, they don’t crease or drop when applied!

What are your must-have make-up essentials?

  • A good foundation or tinted moisturiser that is a perfect match to the skin.
  • A black mascara (not brown) – let those lashes be dramatic and noticeable always.
  • A blusher or bronzer. In this British climate we need colour on our faces, so work on those cheeks and sun-kissed faces.

What top three make-up products should every woman carry?

Definition and texture is the key. Never leave the house without your brows, eyeliner and lips on! Even if you haven’t got time for a full base, these three areas really balance your face and give definition to the key areas.

  • So, a good brow pencil and tweezers – these frame the face.
  • An eye liner pencil or liquid to give definition to any eye shape.
  • A lip pencil and gloss or lipstick. Lips should always look hydrated and dewy even if there's no colour on.

I do need to add in concealer, but now that's four products, oops! But no one wants dark circles or to be caught out when a surprise pimple breaks out just before a party!

See Today's Special Value on air at 12am, 9am, 12pm, 4pm, 7pm and 11pm.

Please can the presenters comment on light skin tones – i.e. can burn and tan, not pink undertones. Looking at the myface website, I would say my skin is medium 01 (collection is 02). Should I still order the medium TSV?

Like the previous lady, I too am not sure what my skin tone is. I think I am fair, but will the makeup adjust when I get a tan?
I am a mature lady with greying hair. Would this makeup be suitable for me?
    Also,how durable is the mascara?
I would be grateful for your comments.
    Thank you.

I have red/auburn hair, freckled face and age group 55-63. Would the fair edition of this product suit me? Never used pink. A bit sceptical.

Hello ladies. It’s Chris Dennis Hope your well. What a great day yesterdays TSV was, thnakyou for watching. I am the new make-up expert for QVC so hopefully you will be seeing a lot more of me bringing you make-up from across different brands which I feel my QVC customers should be hearing about.
Sorry I couldn’t reply sooner but it was a busy day! Thanks for your comments. It really is a simple theory with Myface. Try not to get to analytical about your tone when working it out. Obviously we are talking you about what your skin tone is regularly throughout the year.
If you are planning a holiday or know you will be more tanned in the summer then you skin tone has changed but your base colour skin tone will still be in the medium range, so you will NOT need to deepen your choice. Unless you have been away for a LONG holiday and have drastically changed your skin colouring which in that case you probably wont need a foundation anyway.
If You are fair skinned if you tend to lean toward the lightest shades in other makeup foundation such as porcelains, ivory, warm ivory. You will have a light appearance to your skin and tend to burn not tan. If you are fair you will probably NOT need to deepen your kit for summer. If you do catch the sun a touch of bronzing powder over the foundation will help.
If you are medium you will tend to tan easily and have a warm complexion similar to cheryle cole. Your usual foundation choices will sit in the middles of other foundation brands more sunny beiges, vanilla and honey.
You will not be the medium/dark kit even if you tan. This is for olive, brazilian, indian skintones.
Myface foundation does contain an spf but they have not had the testing yet to give a factor level therefore they cannot certify advertising it as such, so they cannot make that claim.
I would recommend using a moisturiser underneath your day make-up with an spf no lower than spf15.
To answer some other comments, if you have a light skin tone without pink undertones you will still be fair in Myface cosmetics. These colours are so natural if you are a grey haired lady the colours will look just as fabulous on you. The makeup colours, if you are fair, will work if you get a light tan as your base colouring will still wokr best with the colour selection in fair. These colours work best with the fair skin throughout the year.
The mascara isn’t a waterproof. But appears to be long lasting. I used it on Liz my medium model at 8am and it hadn’t dropped or smudged even on the 11pm show. If you are red/auburn hair, the fair is definately for you. The pink is amazing! Dont be sceptical try it!
    have a great weekend!
