I thought I’d start where I left off last time, and let you know that, having spent far more time than I would choose to in hospital over the last week or so, my tests have come back clear, so mercifully no more scans until next Spring!
Without going into too much detail, what began as standard biopsies of the tissue removed in the reconstruction have since led to an endoscopy, colonoscopy and ovarian scan! I almost glow when the lights are off 🙂
I think with a couple of these procedures it’s best not to ask too much beforehand. I knew cameras were involved, and just hoped they were a great deal smaller than those I normally talk to you through!!
They were of course, and although the photographs taken were not ones I’ll be framing and setting on the mantlepiece, they confirmed in rather distinct detail that my insides were healthy, which was all I was worried about 🙂
Thank you so much for all your kind comments and your concern – you really are the best :) So, feeling a great deal better than I have done in ages, I was back at Chiswick Park earlier in the week getting ready for this Sunday’s Diamonique Show at 9pm when I'll have something VERY special for you…I’ll explain more later 🙂
Photographs of a very different kind were taken last week as Colin and I watched the sun set after a particularly hot and sunny day in Dorset. Taking on board your suggestions, we had got up early armed with a small overnight bag and headed for the South Coast. We arrived at this beach around 9.30am and stayed there until 8pm!
I kept my corset on for a little while and then decided that if I laid absolutely still I should be OK without it. My tummy still looks like a ploughed field so I had my cossie on but the warmth of the sun was wonderful on my limbs and I rested while Colin built this sand sofa (left) - on a par with DFS’ finest I felt!
We stayed for a couple of nights (in a B&B, not on the sofa!) and enjoyed the last of the really warm weather before heading home on Thursday evening.
Of course the weather changed on Friday, and although it poured with rain until 3.30pm Jack and I (pictured left) had a lovely time looking around the Classic Car Collection at Salon Prive – an annual event held at Syon Park. I’ve not been able to go for the last two years, but this September I felt well enough, and we had a wonderful day catching up with Kathy Tayler, Debbie Greenwood and Debbie Flint too. You may have seen the photo of the four of us on her blog – I have the one she took of the three of us (at the top of this post)!
And so last, but most definitely NOT least, the exciting news about my Diamonique show on Sunday night! You may remember me writing to tell you about my trip to Basel Jewellery Fair in Switzerland earlier this year. It was there I met up with our Diamonique buyer and together we chose some fabulous new designs to bring to you in this autumn’s collection.
He chose it to match the fabulous diamond twist ring that he had given to me the year before, and it is set with the most dazzling collection of diamonds…
It is something I treasure, and so when I saw the pendant set with Diamonique stones I was absolutely blown away by the accuracy of the copy and the quality of the design.
It is just as beautiful as my own pendant (pictured left), and if you’d like to enter this simple competition, I have one to give away as a prize. Simples!!
Q. Which special occasion did Colin buy this pendant for?
Just write your answers at the bottom of this post before the end of Sunday 15th September Thursday 19th September (UPDATE: I've exteded this competition as the pendant was unfortunately not available on Sunday night!) and make sure to leave an email address in the Email box (this won't be made public but I'll need it to contact the winner) and a winner will be randomly selected in time for next week's blog (see the full terms and conditions).
Obviously there can only be one winner, but if this pretty, and particularly stylish design appeals to you, then join me on Sunday night at 9pm and you can order yours!
Well, I think that’s all the news for now, except to say that I finally braved the scissors and had my hair cut, coloured and styled! I hope that you like the results :)
Do keep in touch, and I will look forward very much to hearing all your news and collecting the answers to the competition, so that we will have a winner next week – Exciting!
With my love,
