My own Beauty Excellence Awards

4

Hi everyone,

It’s been a wee while but just catching my breathe after an extremely busy few weeks!

Well the ‘Big Day’ (my son’s wedding) came and went, and was everything everyone wanted it to be and more! What an incredible day! Not without a few hiccups though! Let’s face it, it would be rather strange if absolutely everything went without a hitch!

But all good in the final hood as they say!

I will be posting a blog in September devoted to the happy event, complete with photos (of course)… so watch this space!

In the interim period, I am in sunny Italy as I write this particular blog. Two days after the wedding I flew out and have been enjoying a week of peace and quiet (apart from several screaming and rather demanding Italian children who are unfortunately situated directly behind me!).

Hubby and a few other family members join me tomorrow and, although it will indeed be great to see them all, there is something I do love about being on my own out here. Does that make me selfish and anti social? (Please don’t answer that!) The downside is that I shall miss The Beauty Excellence Awards on Friday, so I have decided to let you have my top five, if it was up to me (which as we all know it isn’t!). Anyway, here they are in their individual categories:

Best bathing product
Definitely in the pink with Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod Body Wash.

Actually, it’s up for an award with its trusty companion in the Black (Black Pepperpod). I so love both of these. A couple of weeks ago I had a bit of an accident with the Pink option and dropped it in the shower! The downside was that about a quarter of the bottle went down the plug hole before I could rescue it, the upside? My bathroom smelt gorgeous for days after!

Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod - 215853

Best lip product
A joint here I’m afraid between Gayle Hayman Lip Lift and Ultrasun! Always have several of them on the go!

Ultrasun and Gale Hayman

Best anti aging product
Decleor Iris Aromessence! Couldn’t live without this and can’t actually remember the last time (if ever) that I’ve ran out of it!

Decleor Iris Arromessence - 214367

Best cleanser
This is a tough one as there are so many that I love and use from time to time… but if they told me I could only choose one it would have to be… yes you’ve guessed it: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. It’s not just me, it’s every member of the Dawson household too!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish - 212059

Best moisturiser
Same applies here, if I could only have one it would be Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream. When I haven’t used it for a while and go back to using it again, it’s like coming home!

Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream - 215643

Best face make-up
No hesitation here whatsoever (and you probably know what I’m about to say), yep it’s got to be Bareminerals’ Original SPF15 and for me in the Medium Beige! I never leave home without a light ‘dusting’! Even here in Italy!

Bareminerals SPF15 foundation - 229113

Well, they’re my current favourites (most are old timers though!), so what about you? Who are you hoping to scoop up at the beauty awards this Friday?

I could have chosen a lot more and in a lot more categories, but my toes are starting to burn and so I’m reaching for a bit more Ultrsaun… and possibly another gelato! Anything to get away from the noisy kids! (Well that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!).

Make sure you tune in for the real awards on Friday 26th August from 9pm!

Take care and catch up soon,
Anne xxx

    Hi Anne
Yea you enjoy your gelato nothing better when in Italy, and no it’s good now and then to have some peace and quiet, especially after a family wedding when you never stop. Looking forward to seeing your photos. Take care.
    Much love
    Elizabeth X
