The red carpet outside London's Royal Festival Hall was definitely the place to be late on Sunday afternoon. As, just upstream, the final stragglers in the London Marathon completed their last, weary steps in the heat of the sun, it was the stars who were making the headlines as they arrived for the annual British Academy Television Awards.
I was there, microphone in hand, ready to catch their thoughts, hopes and comments before the ceremony. Once again, QVC was the official jeweller for the event, and many of the glamorous actresses and presenters were wearing jewellery from the QVC collection.
Visiting the QVC Style Suite
My BAFTA day started in the opulent Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge, which was where the 'Style Suite' was located. The Style Suite was the place all the nominees visited to choose their QVC jewellery for the big event.
Here, they could also get their hair done by an army of stylists from Mark Hill, and have their make-up perfected by a team of artists from MAC.
I was lucky enough to have my hair tended to by Jarrad, who had travelled from the Mark Hill salon in Hull that morning. He left me in curlers as I headed to the MAC room to be transformed by Kate, who usually stands at the MAC desk in the Metro centre in Gateshead.
Jarrad then finished my hair, I changed into my gorgeous Annouska G dress, added the finishing touch with Diamonique by Tova and I was all set to go!
Taking my place on the red carpet
Down at the Royal Festival Hall, I was surprised at how long and wide the red carpet was. But as soon as the hundreds of guests for the awards began to arrive, I realised it was needed to fit them all on!
They told me to send Richard Armitage towards them if I managed to speak to him later… well, I did see Richard, so I hope he came to see you both!
The celebs I met…
It wasn't just handsome and charming Richard from Robin Hood and Spooks that I was lucky enough to meet. There was Ant and Dec, Barbara Windsor, Patsy Palmer, June Brown, Lucy Benjamin and more from a strong representative team from Eastenders.
There was also David Attenborough (he'd be on my fantasy dinner party guest list – such an amazing man), Davina McCall, Alan Carr, Paul Whitehouse, Jason Isaacs (yum!), Dermot O'Leary, Rob Brydon and so many more.
Oh, I forgot! Daniel Green and Catherine Huntley (those fabulous presenters from QVC, The Shopping Channel) were there and came over to speak to me too!! (Check out Daniel and Catherine's blogs for their memories of a great night out.

What a night. It was such an honour to be there and have the chance to talk to all those talented performers. I hope you enjoyed our Jewellery from the BAFTAs show if you caught it? Let's hope we'll be there next year to soak up the atmosphere.
Take care and enjoy your bank holiday weekend.
