My new cat’s first appearance on QVC!

Dinky on QVC Dinky made his QVC debut yesterday and caused quite a stir in the QVC building with even the toughest of manly blokey types melting into smiles. He came in to do a little bit of filming as I have had lots of requests to see more of him.

He's very inquisitive and happy to go 'on tour' but his big sisters would have had none of it so they enjoyed having the house to themselves without their lively little bro for a day! Hope you liked seeing him.

Catherine and Dinky We have a wonderful Today's Special Value from cook's essentials coming up on Monday, I'll have a whole hour at 7pm so hope you can join me.

I've had the luxury of trying it out at home and it's fab! The only thing is that I was planning to cook with it last night, take some pictures for the blog, and pass on a recipe but we had a power-cut lasting around 12 hours or so! I missed out on cooking but every cloud has a silver lining as we were forced to go out for a meal at our fave Chinese restaurant. Poor us, eh?

Snow hearts Finally, I thought I'd share this piccy of hearts in the snow (right). My daughter and I were sat in the lounge watching people try to climb the steep drive to our road when a lorry began turning in and quickly changed his mind. The result of the lorry turning in and then backing out was this double heart pattern in the snow! Isn't it lovely?

I hope you're all keeping safe and warm. Tune in for some cook's essentials yummy home-cooked food ideas on Monday!

Love Catherine x

Oh Catherine- Dinky is sooooo adorable. It must be so hard to leave him and his sisters at home. I bet he loves getting into all your 3D foam and all your craft bits and blaiming his sisters for his mischief.

Oh Dinky, aren’t you simply gorgeous. Can we have a cuddle? You look a bit like like my son’s cats, Frank and Lucy who are Korats (6th generation).

Dear Catherine – oh no I missed Dinky’s debut on QVC! He is so cute and I am dead jealous of you having three gorgeous cats – my other half will only let me have one – but she is an absolute princess. She is blue too and her name is Isabella but we shorten it to Bella and Bubba and she knows all her names. We did have a slightly feral (and pompous)tabby called Celine a few years ago and her pet name was Bitch! (I wonder why?) Can you imagine what my neighbours thought when I called her in for her tea! The only human she really tolerated was my husband Don, and he could pick her up and love her – but she didn’t want much to do with the rest of us unless it was to attack our ankles as we walked past her,(bless). We also had a black and white called Sid and Don named him ‘The Butler’ as he looked like he had his posh dinner suit on. Sadly those two cats have now passed and like you say they are all so unique and have a special space in our hearts forever. Cat lovers rock! Lyn xxx
PS Love the hair, I can see where it’s going – I remember when you first came to QVC and had lovely blonde hair. I’ve gone from blonde highlights to honey hues and now bright deep red and it takes a while for others to adjust to the shock, but they will catch up with you eventually. You always sound very positive and chirpy so I hope times are better for you now. x

    Hi ladies!
Thanks for your comments, I love coming on here with my morning coffee and leisurely reading what you have to say. Next best thing to actually meeting for coffee!
Cheryl, Dinky does enjoy a bit of paper craft! Well any bit of paper, actually. Brand new crisp sheets of it, crumpled balls of it, broadsheet newspaper versions, the lot! I’m pleased to say that, as my partner Steve is currently freelance, they are never on their own but I do feel a little envious of him when they’re in playful mood and I have to leave the house. In fact, with all three we didn’t even let them sleep alone on their first few nights! We slept on the sofas like new parents, hee hee, spoilt or what?
Joanne, I hadn’t heard of Korats before but just googled them. How beautiful and what lovely heritage they have! They look very much like Dinky Dinks. I love their oversized ears when they’re kittens. It’s like they take a while to grow into them!
Lyn, you made me laugh talking about your little characters. So sad when they go but what fabulous memories you have. The Bitch and the Butler…love it! As you say I’d love to know what the neighbours thought with you calling out Celine’s other name and then, in conversation, talking about your ‘Butler’. Send my love to Princess Isabellabellabubba!!
Anesha, you haven’t missed your chance to see him as he will be on telly in a little ‘advert’ on QVC soon. Blink and you’ll maybe miss him but he’ll be there!
He’s being nutty this morning and chasing his big sisters all over the place!!
Keep your cat stories coming in, the nuttier the better!
    Love Catherine x

AWWW Catherine how cute is he!!! Not long got a new kitty myself after my lovely Tangle (who I sent you piccies of as a kitten) got killed on the road outside my house. Kizzy is a rescue cat and is very much growing into her features so certain that Dinky will too πŸ™‚

Dinky lookis really gorgteous and full of fun, Catherine. It sounds as though the girls have taken to him really well.
Our 4 are still keeping a good eye on me and sticking to their ‘on the bed rota’. Wilfred our youngest is here as I type…
