My marvelous Orchids

Simon's marvelous orchids Over the early part of the year I looked at my window sill and wondered whether it was worth even keeping those sticks that grew from a few rather limp and sallow looking leaves.

I considered just throwing the lot out but my wife was insistent that they could come back. We waited and waited and they remained stubbornly dormant.

When the new Richard Jackson kit turned up (that my wife ordered, having seen Richard and I talking on one of his garden shows), I thought; 'I’ll really put it to the test and see if it can resurrect these plants that I considered to be slowly dying'. We watered just a few times with Flower Power and waited to see what happened. Well OMG what a result!

As you can see from the picture, they not only came back, they came back looking better than when we bought them, years ago! And by the way they have been like this for a month now.

I don’t care what Julian Ballantyne says, Richard Jackson really does know what he’s talking about!!!!

Hi Simon, I did hear you mention on a recent gardening show how you had rescued your orchids with Flower Power, and also that you would put a picture of them on your blog. Well, you are definitely true to your word because we now have a lovely picture of your orchids. I love orchids and over the years have bought quite a few, but sadly must admit to throwing them out once the flowers ‘drooped’, but not anymore. I will now invest in Flower Power to use on my plants and any future orchids. It will be very interesting to see what happens. Your orchids look beautiful on the window. Best wises to you and the family, love Gail xx

They are so funny when they’re on together – like an old married couple! I met Julian at the QVC search for a presenter competition in Glasgow- such a lovely, funny guy!

Your orchids look wonderful. I also have managed to keep 4 plants for about three years. Very good value for money. Do you just leave yours until they grow again or do you cut them back.\kind regards to you and family

I cut the flower spikes, when they were ‘dead’ and watered very seldomly, then when the light levels were coming back a bit I started adding the Flower Power when I noticed new flower spikes growing. I’m no expert so I will consult the oracle (RJ) and report back!
