I’m returning from a little over a week off work, after some half term mayhem that was so much fun!
I’ve come back to some real excitement at QVC too, now that a jewellery design of mine is very close to being débuted. I’m so thrilled and will come onto that in more detail in just a moment…
It was a relaxing few days off work with glorious walks with my Cairns and a trip to the seaside too!
I’m really pleased with this picture of a seagull in mid-flight. Taken with my phone and by my daughter who was snapping away to her heart’s content while I lay on the beach listening to the waves gently roll in.
Back in the days of film, we couldn’t afford to casually take snap after snap. Every shot needed to be planned because every shot cost money! I love digital photography and camera phones have advanced so much in recent years.
As I began to type my blog this afternoon I thought I would touch on the amazing weather we are having today… However, there’s a rumble of thunder in the distance and I’m seeing the occasional flash of lightning too. I think I’ll have to delay the cutting of the grass for another day :- )
I’m lucky with my Cairns as thunder and lightning doesn’t bother them. They barely flicker an ear I’m relieved to say. I know it can be very upsetting to so many animals.
Speaking of my Cairns they’ve taken a real liking to our Homer Simpson slippers, and keep trotting off into outside holding one each. We retrieve them from the end of the garden, for them to only do it again an hour or two later. So, so mischievous – but we love them!
If you’ve caught my blog over the years, you’ll perhaps know just how much I love presenting jewellery at QVC, and I have even been fortunate enough to be invited to design a number of pieces of jewellery too. This has included an 18ct gold, diamond and pink sapphire ring, a mother-of-pearl and tanzanite Heart pendant, and a floating diamond Heart pendant. I’ve submitted a number of sketches in recent years and I was thrilled when our diamond buyer at QVC, approached me to have this piece commissioned.
It was as though they’d read my mind because this, of all the recent sketches is the design I was really hoping would catch the buyers’ eye.
A few weeks ago I was presented with the finished sample. Our diamond buyer phoned me while I was at home saying she had it in the office to show me. I was so excited, I’ve never moved so quickly from my car, in the car park to the buyers department at QVC. I was a little nervous too, however I needn’t have been; the design team have interpreted my sketch beautifully.
I’m simply thrilled with every aspect of the bangle and the quality is exemplary. The three open hearts are filled with loose diamonds, which dance and animate as you move your wrist. We have two colour options available as well. It will début in my next blog, I can’t wait to show you!
Have a great week. I’m pleased to say the thunder has settled a little now.
