As the newbie at QVC I've just completed my first week on air, so things have been pretty hectic once again! I've had the chance to do shows with Dennis Basso, The Camouflage Sisters, Ingrid Tarrant and even the opportunity to bring you some Today's Special Values which always get snapped up very quickly.
The first time I actually appeared on air was with Anna Cookson who ironically had a cooking show in the morning with Sophie Wright and her inspiring recipe book 'Cooking on a Shoestring'. I knew it was a real treat to do a cooking show because I'd been told by Simon Biagi, and of course you get to taste all the food! This was music to my ears, I do love cooking but, like most of us, I prefer the devouring more!
The show was drawing to a close and all the prepping and cooking had been done. Being a food lover I was keen as mustard and poised ready to pounce on the tasty authentic quesadillas Sophie had prepared. I carefully listened to my director who said I was free to go and sample the food on the other side of the set.
So, off camera I tried to delicately dart swiftly around the back of Anna to grab a bite but unfortunately at that same moment Anna stepped backwards into my path, there was a big collision and I nearly knocked the poor girl over! Not ideal for a debut on the channel, things can only get better they say. I bet that when they came up with the proverb 'too many cooks spoil the broth' they didn't had live TV in mind!
