My first Morning Style show

Eve Pollard dressHello everyone,

Well – it was weeks in the planning and preparing but only 60 minutes before it was over. Our first Morning Style show went out on Wednesday, and if you enjoyed it just half as much as I did, we did something right!

Our stylist behind the scenes, (although not hiding for long if I have anything to do with it!) is Charlotte, who worked on adding jackets, bags and shoes to accessorise our main garments and create outfits to inspire you. Maybe some were not your style, but hopefully something caught your eye, and maybe gave you some ideas to develop your own wardrobe.

We started with the theme of 'Dress to Impress', and it was brilliant to have Eve Pollard with me – she designed the dresses in our newest fashion range, which we launched on Morning Style. She and I go back a long way actually, as she was editor of the Sunday Mirror when my husband was photographer on that newspaper – we invited her to our wedding 25 years ago but unfortunately she was on holiday.

Her dresses aren't the most affordable that we bring you, but the fabrics, lining and attention to detail, along with all the features that flatter a slightly older woman, make them well worth a look. We also featured Fenn Wright Manson, a great British brand with international flair which we are proud to have on QVC.

Then it was 'I Dream of Jeans', featuring our Today's Special Value from Diane Gilman, and lots of other options when it comes to wearing denim. I hope you liked what you saw if you managed to catch any of it. If you'd like to check out any of the items we featured you can see them all using this link

If you missed it completely, you can watch the whole show below…

Charlotte has already put together most of the outfits we'll be showing you next Wednesday – our theme will be 'Age-defying Style', looking at how QVC fashion can work for you whatever your age (in terms of number of years OR how you feel!) If you have any comments, ideas or queries of course you can post them on this blog but we also have an email address especially for the show.

Do please send your message to us at Oh, and do your best to tune in at 10am next Wednesday!

Until then, take care. Kathy x

Hi Kathy-been watching you since your early days on breakfast tv but wanted to tell you how well you are looking-you are slimming down sensibly and your hair and skin looks radiant and healthy—you are doing a grand job and are always so down to earth and ‘normal’ about life, changing body shapes and generally how life keeps changing for us all. Keep the same and do not ever change. Love K. XXX

    Hello Janice
Thanks for your kind comments – much appreciated. We aim to please so I’m glad you liked the first Morning Style show, and hopefully managed to catch the second as well. It may take a few weeks to really settle into the format of the show, but also. each show will bring something different. Next week we will be looking at how to create different looks with one garment, and also the spring trends that we feature on our website. the following week will focus on styles to suit different body shapes, and I’m hoping Pipa will join me to talk about dressing a petite size. (Even though I am losing weight, I can still represent the larger figure!!)
    Hope you’re well.
    Best wishes. Kathy x

Hello Kay. Thanks for your words of support – it’s good to know you enjoy my style – I know I’m not everyones taste but it’s who I am and if we all liked the same things then the world would be a pretty boring place, hey? That’s one of the reasons that I think QVC is such a great channel – as presenters we are all different and appeal to different people. Those days on BBC Holiday and TVam were so long ago – thanks for sticking with me!!
    Best wishes
    Kathy xx

Hello again, Sandra. I’m really pleased that you liked some of what we showed you on the second Morning Style show. Charlotte is our talented ‘behind the scenes’ stylist and one day I will persuade her to come on air to talk to me on the show. Before that we may post an interview with her on the website. I think she put some stunning outfits together for last wednesday, and I bought a couple of things for myself. We do have some dresses in the next show, and then the following week we will concentrate on styles for different body shapes and sizes so you may find something suitable then. I sure we can fill those hangers for you!
    Take care,
    Kathy xx

Hi, I loved the new show it was really fun and chatty and Glen was a good choice for co – presenter. Bought the hippy chiffon pants and the Nina top. Nice to see some looks put together; for instance the Birkenstocks which were much more fun and funky than the ones I remember from decades ago when they were worn by rather earnest women who taught women’s studies at red brick universities! I’d no idea Birkenstocks were so cute nowadays and have ordered the ones featured. Shall watch when I can, definitely required viewing!

    Hi Susie
I’m so pleased you bought the chiffon wide leg trousers – I absolutely love them, although I wish I was a little taller – I look better in them when I’m wearing high heels, and prefer flats, really. And I have my eye on a pair of Birkenstocks we featured last Wednesday – stretchy striped tops – really fun and comfortable…you’re right about the image change.
Hope you can catch this week’s show.
    Best wishes
    Kathy x
