I hope this week’s blog finds you well, safe and warm. There’s no questioning the weather we’ve had of late. It’s been bitterly cold and although the snow is long gone where I live, near London, I know parts of the UK are still struggling. Wishing you the very best if you’re still being affected by the adverse weather.
It’s hard to think we’re already in the month of March. I haven’t ventured out too much so have enjoyed the home comforts of delicious food, warm drink and some great TV.
I’m fairly certain that research would show that I’m the biggest fan of Casualty on BBC1. It’s brilliant and I haven’t missed an episode for years thanks to the iPlayer.
I subscribe to Netflix and my year got off to a flying start when I saw that Friends became available to watch. Love, love, love that sitcom. It’s hard to pick a favourite episode but the one where Ross gets stuck in his leather trousers has to be up there with the best, surely!
So we’re well into March which means it’s time to highlight this month’s birthstone which of course is stunning Aquamarine.
A beautiful gemstone and part of the Beryl family so is related to the likes of Emerald and Morganite. Interestingly, pure Beryl is colourless and it’s the trace elements which aid the colour and characteristics and in the case of Aquamarine it’s traces of iron.
The name is derived from the Latin words ‘Aqua’ and ‘Marina’ which translate to water and sea. Very fitting. The colour is crisp, lush and so vibrant. A truly stunning shade of blue.
A number of designs have caught my eye including this 9ct white gold ring set with an oval cut aquamarine and diamond graces the shoulders too. The white metal sets off the blue beautifully.
Staying with jewellery for a moment longer, this design I adore. Kim of Kim & Co is of course especially known for her wonderful range of fashion. However do keep an eye out for her accessories too. If you love cats or know someone who does then this is certainly a design to consider. The Magnifying Cat Necklace is fabulous and pops a smile on my face every time I see it!
Ok, time to dash, the Cairns are looking longingly at their leads. Time for a walk and on my return perhaps another classic episode of Friends… but which one…?
