My favourite Christmas gifts

It’s funny because as my children get older, I see the similarities in the things they hope to get for birthdays and Christmas!! The other day we went to a friend’s house and their daughter had all kinds of treasures in her room - make-up, necklaces, jewellery boxes (all 6-year-old style!!)… and Ophelia was sooooooo inspired!!!!

It took me back to Christmas when I was 7/8 and I DESPERATELY wanted a Girls World!! I loved it – LOVED it!! It was the one where you could pull the middle section of hair up and it would 'grow' (even I at such a tender age wasn’t that impressed with the subsequent unevenness of the hair cut!!).

Anyway, suffice to say, I coloured it every colour under the sun and spent HOURS making her up! I’ve loved make-up for what seems like forever and I get the feeling Ophelia is going to follow suit!!
So Santa, beware!! Jewellery boxes, make-up and the like is going to be on her list!!!!
… and make-up will ALWAYS be on mine!! Just today for example, I've added these four to my list…

1. Bare Escentuals 7 Piece Collection

2. Benefit Bald Gal Lash Duo

3. Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Palette

4. Cargo Boogie Nights Eye Shimmer Collection

Bare Escentuals 7 Piece Bare Platinum Collection Cargo Boogie Nights Eye Shimmer Collection
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Palette Benefit Bad Gal Lash Duo

…. now where was I? Oh yes - back to thinking about packing!! We’re off to Canada in less than 24 hours and I haven’t even started!
Will try to blog a bit from there, but can’t promise - otherwise let’s catch up when I get back

Hi Pipa I received a girls world for christmas when I was about 7/8 years old I spent hours and hours playing with it putting make up on and curlers in her hair. Mind you I used to get the curlers tangled up in the hair and my dad had to spend ages untangling it lol!!

Hey Pipa, I too had a girls world after begging Father Christmas for one for two years, My dad said it was a waste of money and would be a flash in the pan. Well, he finally gave in and….. it was the toy I played with most for years!!! hehehe did he ever have egg on his face. It is still mentioned by all the family every christmas and I’m now 38! He will never be allowed to forget it. Sadly my Girls world ended up in the bin after I gave her a crew cut!!!!

Hi Pipa, just being reading the comments about Girls World
sooo funny we also bought one for our daughter for xmas about 14years ago, I think it may still be in the loft. However she went onto be a hairdresser so it was quite an investment after all!
p.s.The other day you were presenting the Yong Kim show and you were wearing a long faceted beaded necklace with a large open heart pendant, I thought it may have been coming up in the Lola Rose shows on the 10th but it didn’t if possible could you let me know where you got it from.
Many Thanks Happy Xmas to your family and everyone at QVC.
