Zoella Suggs has a lot to answer for! My daughter talks to herself, or more often to mirrors, or indeed her iPad a little… no A LOT of the time!
Now I remember talking to myself lots too, but back in those days when you saw someone having an animated conversation in a car or walking down the street you raised eyebrows, nay even laughed. These days one realises it’s just a vlogger (video blogger) doing their chatty little thing!! Why am I even surprised when I myself talk for a living?!
So who exactly is Zoella you may be asking (ask your daughters, I bet they’ll know). Well, she is a beauty vlogger, who has made her name and career from testing out and demonstrating products and video blogging about them. She is a beautiful young lady and Maddie is enthralled by her! So, when I caught her chattering away (as if on camera!) as she made Tom a smoothie with our new Nutri Ninja, I had a little thought that she could maybe do a vlog of her own… so here is Miss Maddie demonstrating her smoothie!! Sorry it’s a bit long, but I didn’t have the heart to rush her! I think I had better watch out, my little girlie may be after her mummy’s job!!!
We use the Nutri Ninja loads, it’s the easiest thing to use AND clean up, and it’s certainly not a one hit wonder kind of gadget as they often can turn out to be. “Can we shop for more fruit mummy?” It’s so much nicer to hear that than, “Can we go and get some crisps!!”
I have been following the Christianne Wolff Body Rescue Plan since September and I have really changed how I eat. For me my problem was NOT eating enough!!! Then the classic “reward” of a glass or two of wine or a G&T. Yup it’s easily done isn’t it? Plus, the crisps and dips to accompany this “Aaaah time” meant my calories were all taken in at the end of a long day, eaten way toooooo late and laden with the sugar and empty calories alcohol offers (what a temptress!).
So September arrived and I was spurred on by Catherine Huntleys phenomenal results. I sat one morning super early in the car park at QVC and thought the phrase, “I’ll deal with myself when I’m going to be 50” just didn’t cut it anymore! So I ordered the book and started. Since then over a stone that had just nestled itself in and around my curves dissolved away and I’ve continued with better habits.
I wasn’t sure I would do it, particularly the detox part, nor that I would stick it out, so I quietly began. Had it been a diet, I wouldn’t have been at all interested, but I approached it as a change in my habits and I really appreciated some of the relaxing meditation CDs Christianne had done, which just helped me breathe better and slow myself down in general.
Now I’m 7 months in! I guess the naughty bits sneak in and yes, I’m still having the Prosecco here and there, but just not as regularly!!! I appreciate all I’m drinking and eating so much more, oh and I’m eating plenty too! And drinking more…WATER that is!!
Bizarre isn’t it but I think all those years of not performing as a dancer on a full tummy had stayed with me, but now I’m munching on stuff every few hours… it’s a good feeling! Benefits? I feel more like ‘me’. Feeling more like ‘me’ perhaps should be the subject of another blog, or “who actually am I ..??!!!!!” I’m feeling more than a little peculiar and a little lost after such massive hard fought battles have been won this end, and life is developing now for ALL my three children.
I guess I’ve had my mummy hat on for just that little more time than most mummies of a soon to be 14 year old. I’m never taking it off that’s for sure, but maybe the girl beneath it needs to remember what else she’s able to do…!!!
I’m off now to be photographed for World Downs Syndrome Awareness Day (March 21st) with my socks on… Mmmmmmm just my socks on…?? Noooooooo better re-read the brief QUICKLY!!!!
Do pop a comment back to me, or my gorgeous girlie. We’d LOVE to hear from you.
Wishing you all happy and sunny March moments!
Claire and Maddie
