My busy few weeks

Dale and Kathy at the Breast Cancer Care carol concert 2007 Thanks for your kind responses to the video footage of Simon’s celebrations, I’m sure you enjoyed his shows with Julia. The end of the year is always a busy time for us all but it seems extra busy for the Franklins with seven birthdays in three weeks of Christmas (not including mine on the big day).

I hope we’re giving you plenty of ideas to fill those stockings (you know what I mean!). Every year my wife Tracey and I agree to take it easy with the pressies and food etc, but with the best intentions it never quite works out that way, does it!

This year after much thought – I’m spending a quiet Christmas and birthday at home with my family – we did talk about going away somewhere exotic for the 'BIG' birthday but ultimately decided to stay with tradition and remain in good old Blighty.

I’ve never spent a Christmas or Birthday away from home, but a few of my friends tell me I’m missing out, as they always go to far off places and raise a glass of Christmas cheer as they wallow in a cooling pool in 100 degree heat ! I suppose it’s each to their own and perhaps one day I’ll just have to find out what I’ve missed, if anything.

I was going over some old Christmas photos and found this one of Kathy Tayler and I at the Breast Cancer Care Carol Concert in 2007 (above left), I’m not sure which camera Kathy is looking at but I think it’s a lovely picture all the same.
Buying presents for the children is relatively easy still, although it gets harder each year, but buying for the grown ups is just as testing – I think I’ve bought more presents from QVC this year than ever before and I haven’t finished yet ! Whilst you’re surfing our website or tuning in for last minute inspirations, drop me a line and tell me where you are spending Christmas this year – I’m nosey like that!

Dale x

    Hi Dale
I am very much a homebird for Christmas. Never been away. Mind you i dont like going away from home anyway.
My hubby is a firefighter and since i met him has never had a Christmas off, just the way his shifts have fallen in. So this year we are going to my folks for dinner. Then they are coming to me at new year. We only stay 10 mins apart.
I have bought most of my shopping from qvc the past few years. When it comes to your jewellery and many other things you cannot be beaten in many ways.
I hope youhave a wonderful Christmas and all your family and of course Mr Toby!!!!! And have a wonderful birthday on Christmas day.
Whats does Toby think of the Christmas tree? My boy is almost 4 and still lokos at me as if ‘what on earth is a tree doing in the house’? He likes to watch the light and look at the decorations.
    have a wonderful time Dale.
    Love Julie
