Well it's a been a busy week or two this end, particularly this last week as it was my birthday on Saturday. Due to the fact that I was working on my birthday, I've had to squeeze time in between for my family and friends!
Last Thursday, my Mum treated me to a birthday lunch. We love Chinese food and had a great feast with lots of jasmine tea… we get through pots of the stuff! It was nice to spend some time together, just the two of us.
My Mum said (as all Mums would) that maybe I was working a bit too hard recently and suggested we take a trip to Ireland for a short break soon… just after she finished saying that I opened my fortune cookie and look what it said inside (photo on the left); 'Take a break'! How funny is that? I just thought I'd share that with you as it amused us at the time.
My son bought me a Peter Kay box set of DVDs… I have a feeling it's as much for him as it is for me, hee hee. It's going to be fun watching them together. My daughter got me a reggae music CD. I have extremely ecclectic musical tastes but reggae is one of my absolute favourites. Always makes me want to dance!
My lovely friends at QVC also made a fuss for my birthday. You often hear us talking about Jo who prepares the kitchen shows for us. Well at the end of my EasiYo show, I was presented with a lovely chocolate pudding she prepared for me.
Finally Steve met me at work and whisked me off to a lovely hotel where we had dinner, stayed over and then he took me to lunch the next day for a fab Italian meal (photo on the right). Yes, the way to my heart is with food!!
I'd like to thank all of you for your cards, texts and birthday 'tweets', too. You're so kind and thoughtful. It made my day even more special.
Love Catherine x
