My baby has grown up!

My youngest (Ophelia) started school yesterday!! Just a half day to start off with, so as a treat when she finished, we whizzed into London and went to the oldest Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park to see our friend performing in Hello Dolly.

Ophelia was transfixed, delighted and totally inspired!! It was, of course an amazing show, and I sat there proud as punch with my little girl next to me, tears running down my cheeks here and there - a magical afternoon without a doubt!
Anyway, where does this big day go? In the bank of wonderful memories to be treasured forever? Oh absolutely but also in the bank of turbo charged life experiences! This morning she came to me fully dressed and ready to go to school telling me, “Mummy, I want to live on my own now. I want to dance with Cornelius… because I know how to dance Mummy and I would like my shoes and my jackets in my room now."
… how about that for growing up overnight… sniff sniff!! She ran into her classroom this morning with a smile, a wave and a big kiss, all grown up!

Love Pipa x

Why do our babies have to grow up SO fast, the fact your daughter went into school so happy shows what a fab job you have done raising her, sounds like a happy confident little girl, hope I have one the same in a few years when she starts school! X

Hi Pipa – know how you are feeling! My twelve year old daughter Lorna started secondary school a few weeks ago and she has changed so much in such a short time.
Last weekend she came down with a pile of underwear she had emptied from her drawers.
“Cant wear this stuff now mum” she stated.
We looked through the pants, socks and vests – some of which had yet to be worn- “frills” “flowers” BUTTERFLIES!!!” she objected.
So off we headed to the shops to replace the frills, flowers and butterflies with plain ‘grown up’ underwear.
Fortunately though Pipa – my nephew and his fiancee had a gorgeous baby girl (Emily) earlier this summer – so I will still be able to buy frills, flowers and butterflies for her.
Kind regards to you and all at QVC!

    Hi Pipa
My youngest daughter also started school earlier this month. I had been looking forward to getting some time back for me, but as the time grew closer i was dreading it, especially as Jessica is such a chatterbox!
She, however, is loving school and has been on the sunny side every day and my “me time” has been spent doing extra hours at work!!
    Best wishes.
