Music to my ears

Bose Wave music systemFirst of all, my apologies that I haven't written my blog for a little while. There has been lots happening and I will update you about all that with fresh blogs over the next week.

I had to write, though, and let you know about the amazing Bose TSV coming up on Saturday. It is so incredible it would seriously have felt like a crime not to tell you about my experience with it!

I should tell you first of all that I am not a big gadget person as I am always trying to save for something or other, so have never really been one to fritter my hard earned money away (the first lesson my mother, thankfully, taught me early in life). That said, I really do believe in buying the best you can afford and there is alot to be said for the old adage: buy cheap and you'll buy often! This would be the second lesson taught to me by my wise mother!

I love my music, as some of you will know from the music interviews I have done on QVC. I have quite an eclectic taste; everything from jazz to soul, opera to pop. When I listen to music it is like an escape for me from the stresses of work and life. So when I plugged in the Bose system that QVC had very kindly loaned me for a week, I really wasn't prepared for what I got.

The sound quality is quite honestly, like nothing I have ever heard before. Imagine yourself sitting in the middle of a world class orchestra while they are playing, able to listen to every note from every individual instrument. Or, perhaps imagine that you are sitting on the stage of the Royal Opera House with the entire cast singing just for you.Thats is what it is like to listen to music on the Bose Wave system.

To give you an example, I have a live recording of the Goldberg Variations by Bach, and as I listened to it I turned the sound up, only to discover that the sound quality is so clear, and so lacking in distortion that I could hear the pianist breathing and even in some parts humming as he played. Something I had never heard before when I had listened to this recording. I actually laughed in disbelief!

There is an AM/FM radio tuner built in with presets and even an alarm system that is a wonderful way to wake up in the morning, as it doesn't matter what volume you have been listening to before you switched the system off, the alarm will always come on at a very quiet level and gradually increase in slight increments unil the sounds of either the radio or whatever music you have chosen to listen to (whether from a CD, iPod or iPhone), gently draws you out of your sleep and back into the real world.

The CD Player, Radio and iPod dock all in one makes this the best option for me and I am sure you will agree. So, forget about The Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House or even the Main Stage at Glastonbury, having a Bose Wave sound system means that the greatest concert venues are right there with you in your living room!
