MOTHER'S DAY GIVEAWAYS
First, Happy Mother's Day for Sunday! See below for my own celebrations. And here’s the first of the freebies – my very own, first ever, spooky short story featuring romantic suspense! It’s not a horror story, so grab it on eBook whilst you can – just go to Amazon and download it – it’s free from 28-31st inclusive.
WHEN DREAMS RETURN is the tale of Chelle and Sara who married two brothers, one of whom has disappeared. Plus, there's a spooky Victorian house, with a secret in the attic, and a strange black cat…
It's a tale of magic and mystery – will you guess the twist at the end? Get it before Tuesday. Just click on the link under the title above.
And also for the link to TILL THE FAT LADY SLIMS which is another treat for this weekend – it’s 99p only, on eBook from Amazon, this weekend.
So many people have been finding it works – and recommending it to each other on our Facebook group ‘Back to You QVC’ – so this is your chance to download it! Follow the link and read the reviews – they make me very proud.
All you need to read these titles is the free KINDLE APP, if you don’t have a kindle. You can even get an app for your PC. Here’s a link to tell you how – a little video I put on YouTube a while ago (ignore the bit at the end). Enjoy!
And finally, there’s a fab competition below with a bumper bundle of products – do join in!
Now, I know a lot of you will say ‘but you do so much!’, well not in this sector of my life. The idea being I make new contacts – male and female, single and married, business and social.
Run by a charming chap called John Hall (whose nan watches QVC so hi John’s nan! – that’s why he contacted me to come along to an event), these are simply dinner dates with new friends.
Networking, social, or (possibly eventually!) meeting new partners, they take place in some exclusive venues and do not cost any more than the cost of your meal. Interesting eh? My first one was at Home house and I was so engrossed I forgot to get a pic!
But I met some charming people, including: a couple who own a marketing firm; a lady property developer (my son works in property development) whose daughter works in LA (like I’d like to one day when I’m a grown up); and a delightful lady hedgefund person, who also makes bespoke skincare, whose pal runs a bespoke dating agency – needless to say we all had a lot to discuss and we're meeting up again soon.
Nice way to expand your circle of mates and explore new avenues… More info here – just email John, firstname.lastname@example.org, and he’ll arrange to meet up with you to help him put people together – on tables of no more than eight. Fun times ahead!
So my kids and I did our usual celebrating on a day that suits us – which was Sunday! We went to Onslow Arms, near Ripley, for a wonderful Sunday dinner.
They bought me some very nice stuff – mostly vouchers to spend time with my kids or for treats! I got a Bradley voucher, a Lauren voucher, a massage voucher and a ‘make sushi together’ voucher! Lolly got me a pretty mug and, of course, I got flowers too.
I hope, whatever you’re doing this weekend, you have a lovely one. And thinking of you if you don’t have a parent to celebrate it in the flesh, (like I don’t for Fathers’ Day). Hence my freebies – competition below.

RiWiSi – my weekly look at all things book!
See above for all the info about my own books of the week – well, weekend! Freebie spooky romantic short story and cut price offer on weight loss eBook! Now for a fantastic Book of the Week…
Sycamore Row by john Grisham is that latest tome to keep me amused on my long car journeys – it’s fabulous. I have always loved Grisham’s work – Runaway Jury is one of my fave films ever.
This novel is yet another courtroom battle with rabbits being drawn out of hats and psychological warfare between opposing parties – and I love it!
Based on a battle of the wills – literally – in the deep south, it has a sprinkling of his usual good-versus-bad, worthy-versus-undeserving, and triumph against adversity. I love it when a plan comes together.
I can’t give too much away – you just have to read it. Highly recommended – had me wanting to get back into the car to continue the story – and that’s the best accolade of all. A good 9/10 for this audio book from audible.

Still to come… win a huge bundle of goodies in my monthly competition … and a brilliant performance from actors in Behind the Candelabra…
Sneaky Peeks – Mally’s 7 piece TSV collection, on Sunday 6th April – another brilliant bundle from our makeup artist to the stars! And same night, at midnight, I’ll be launching the new Kim and Co top and matching chiffon scarf set!
Put Sunday night at midnight on 6th in your diary if you’re a Kim fan!
Shhhh! If you always try to watch Charlie filling his gob, join him on Wed 2nd April at 9pm – not only to cathartically join in on a feast in Gourmet Celebrations, but also – I’m told – for one of those special one hour only type offers, if you know what I mean…!
Not a Lot of People Know That So what’s the big secret this week? Well, it’s a simple one. Some people have commented that they did not know that we have a full six month warranty for quality on almost all items we sell? If anything should go wrong just ring customer services. Plus, for jewellery and electricals, it’s a whole year! Yet another reason to shop with QVC and worth repeating!
P.S did you know the first item we ever sold was a little VW Beetle shaped alarm clock?!
P.S – Marco Polo No Go – the Marco Polo building, QVC’s old home for 18 years, is being demolished. How sad! Here you can just see where the people had their offices. It’s very alarming, seeing it like that, but I guess flats are more important, and if we’d been there much longer it may have earned protected ‘listed’ status. Hence why we moved and why it’s creating thousands of homes and jobs I guess.
This week – join me on Monday at midnight when I’m back on air after my week off, with Vercella Vita two pack high waist briefs! Plus watch out for a Judith Williams skincare one show only bargain (wink wink) on Wednesday 2nd at 10pm!
Then at the end of the week, I’m back on Fri Sat and Sun, then into the run up to Easter!
(When my next novel ‘Diary of a Wannabe Shopping Channel Presenter’ will be published on Amazon! Tons of writing to do in between now and then eh?!)
This week's gives you a peek behind the camera, to our multi-talented product assistants!
BACK TO YOU
Next week – another pic from me on my path to a flatter tum by the end of June! Have been challenged a bit lately but, with the help and support of our girls on Facebook, have largely kept on the straight and narrow.
The exercise is really what’s been making the difference tho. I have to say, with Leg Master back on air this week, it’s been lovely to hear about some of the wonderful examples of what people have been achieving using QVC gadgets. And thanks for listening to my advice – glad it’s helping!
This pic from the Back to You group this week – sooooo funny! I prefer the bodyblade myself! Lol.
Over on Back To You Monday Update on my own website, find out more about macrobiotics for: health with a fab podcast, featuring my fave guru Marlene; statins chat; plus we’re half way to end of June which is when we have our B2U get together in Surrey and my joint book launch.
Where has this year gone? Read it all on debbieflint.com.
Come join in on Facebook! Just over 720 members on Back to You QVC group this week! Whoop! ‘Back to You QVC’ (open) group, on Facebook. Or for the closed group, search ‘Break the Habit BTU’.
Back to You returns weekly to QVC UK in September.
At 15, she’s had a good innings, as people keep saying. It’s always sad – many of you have already commiserated on Twitter and Facebook about her passing, so thank you.
Anyway, here she is when she was spritely and young – how I’ll prefer to remember my first ever family pet and the dog the kids grew up with. Rest in peace, Holly dog, and say hello to Grandma, she’s waiting for you.

Circulating on Facebook this week, a ‘do you recognise them when they were young’ – well, do you? More here from the Manchester Evening News, where you’ll see Sweeney, Wardy, Susie, Tim Grundy and more.
All were great to work with in my embryonic presenting days. Where was one of Andy Crane tho? And Chris Evans? Lol.
MALLETT’S PALETTE One of the most clever amongst my fellow broadcasters when I was at Picc was, believe it or not, Itsy Witsy Teeny Weeny Timmy Mallett, who became a big noise in kids’ telly and, of course, had his top 10 hit.
When I was a broadcast assistant, amongst other things, I drove the outside broadcast van to various locations like a park in Stockport and ‘Dave’s Chippy’, and Worsley Shopping Mall. All good experiences when I was a rookie!
Fave memory of Timmy is watching Live Aid in ’85 at his house in Didsbury with the Timmy Helpers.
Anyway, currently the guy’s an artist! His next exhibition is in Dundee on 4th April. Do check out some of his pieces – who knew he could be such a talent with a paintbrush, not just a mallet! Well done, matey. Always nice to see former colleagues doing well. Go here to find out more.
I COULD HAVE BEEN ANYTHING… so I chose Chewbacca. Funneeee pic of a hairy poggy in a car – wonder what breed he is?! For obvious reasons, I thought I’d choose an extra funny or two this week! Hope it made you smile like it did me!
Went for dinner with my pal, and fellow Facebook cohort, Sharon and her hubby Ray. Such fun – loads of laughs and we went back to QVC after for a nosy through the next day’s shows! His fashions are so well priced – go here to see a summary including the items most recently on air!
Debbie Does Dinner at Daphne’s After last week’s Society Dining, I met up with one of the ladies, property developer Daphne Mackendrick, for a fab dinner. We met on the night we said good bye to Holly, so it was refreshing to go to her lovely mews house in Kensington to meet lots of new people – her daughter’s clan – and have a good banter.
Jade is about to move to LA to be a development producer – good luck hon!
As promised, here’s your chance to win a bumper bundle of goodies, including Radical face mask and bottle of bubbly (pictured), Liz Earle beauty hamper to the value of £90, a supersize Alpha H Liquid Gold and Cleanser worth £65 , plus your choice of one of my signed books, out of four featured at the bottom of the page – just state which one when we confirm you’re the winner!
All you have to do to enter the randomly chosen draw is leave a comment below saying you’d like to be entered, and if you like, say which prize appeals to you most, and why! Good luck! (Full T&C’s here).
Entries close midday on Thursday next week (3rd April), winner announced in next blog.
WATCH – BEHIND THE CANDELABRA
OMG what amaaaazing performances in this week’s film recommendation – which is on DVD/online.
Michael Douglas – well, you forget it’s him! Absolutely brilliant interpretation of Liberace – you just don’t think you’re watching anyone other than Liberace. Before Elvis, before Elton, before Gaga or Madonna, was Liberace.
This biopic of the relationship between ‘Lee’ and his protégé Scott is at times painful, cringeworthy, spell-binding, and ultimately very emotional, and sooo worth a watch. Matt Damon has my new found respect – and he had quite a lot of it already! And a HILARIOUS cameo from Rob Lowe. OMG they must have had such fun on set filming this!
Definitely get it if you can – if you recall some of the TV shows and press surrounding the icon of the 20th century, you’ll love this film. A very good 8.75 from me – almost a 9. Very, very good.
NEXT WEEK – off to sunny Devon for the weekend, meeting a head-hunter for dating (!), seeing old school pals, a networking event in Chelsea Football Club hotels, and the next pic in the countdown to June in my Break the Habit challenge to get a flatter tum! Oh and hopefully I’ll finish ‘Diary of a Wannabe Shopping Channel Presenter’ – out Easter!
Have a good week. Don’t forget the clocks go forward Saturday night! (29th)
