Monday morning fashion fix

Kathy with the Try a Trend guestsMonday mornings usually start slowly for me, once Billy has left for college. A sit down with a cup of tea and the newspaper before taking Barney out for his walk is my normal routine. Today, though, was a little different – I was on my way into QVC before sunrise, looking forward to a day full of my two favourite things – food and fashion!

Joining Claire for the Monday Morning Show which was part of our Taste of Christmas event was a treat – our Today's Special Value was a Quality Value Christmas meat hamper so breakfast was high protein and absolutely delicious!

I also got to meet double Michelin star chef Michael Caines of Gidleigh Park fame whose stunning book Michael Caines at Home is full of inspirational recipes – a perfect gift for someone who loves to cook. Although Monday was our special foodie day, we have lots more to discover on our website, so you haven't missed out if you couldn't join us. From Christmas hampers and chocolate making gifts to designer popcorn, from the meatiest of pies to the stickiest of toffee puddings, find it all at

The fashion part of my day was next. Four of our viewers were coming into QVC to enjoy a Morning Style makeover. They had all been invited to 'Try a Trend', referring to the main looks for autumn winter – you can find out more about them on our website. June, Charlotte, Jan and Sarah were all fantastic – they were willing to stretch themselves a little in terms of what they usually wear and the style they feel comfortable with. Charlotte, our behind the scenes stylist, and fashion expert Glen Campbell helped them to choose outfits that reflected each of the four trends, Precious Metals, Military Madam, Twisted Heritage and La Dolce Vita. They all looked fantastic as you can see from the photo (above left).

We saw June's video on Morning Style today (Wednesday 23rd) and the others will appear over the coming weeks, hopefully helping you to decide which of the looks you'd like to embrace. I'm really enjoying bringing you Morning Style each week (Wednesdays at 10am) and hope that you like what you see, if you manage to watch the show. Remember you can catch it later in the week by going to If you have any thoughts on what you'd like to see or about QVC fashion is general, do please jot me a line in the message box below. I'd love to hear which is your favourite designer, and what the most recent piece of fashion you bought was.

Our next big fashion event is Get Gorgeous, on Friday November 8th which will bring you a brand new range of cashmere knitwear, the launch of Miller Harris perfumes on QVC and a stunning Trinny and Susannah velvet and lace dress as our Today's Special Value.

Hope to see you there!

Take care

Kathy x

    Hi Kathy,
I love the outfit you’re wearing in the photo above. Can you tell me if it’s all available from QVC – I want it!
Thanks for all the tips on your Morning Style show – I can’t always catch it live but it’s probably just as well as it would prove very expensive!

Hi Kathy. Watched you fashion segment today and really enjoyed the fashion and the tips. It would be nice to have a couple of more of these types of shows as it allow the viewers to see the versatility of the fashion shown. I wonder, with so many dresses for sale on QVC, mostly they are unlined, particularly Kim and Co. It would make wearing these items easier and not cling if you sold underwear such as camisoles and underskirts at various lengths. I have always tended to buy lined garments but these are few and far between on QVC. I like a lot of the Kim and Co dresses and skirts but they cling so badly. Underwear does have a purpose in how a garment hangs and I feel there is an opportunity for QVC to perhaps offer such underwear and not just the shape wear. Today you mentioned belts as one customer suggested you should sell belts also, I completely agree. Belts would be a great addition to the fashion you offer.
Do please give some thought to my request for foundation wear as I think it is a vital starting place to fashion.
    With thanks

Hi just wanted to say how fantastic I find “Morning Style with Kathy”, I don’t do Facebook or Twitter so hope this is an ok place to add my thoughts, I do hope Q continue this hour! I have purchased items that I wouldn’t have, in fact haven’t, if and when I have seen them on the dedicated brand hour but after seeing them in an outfit pulled together with other items from other brands I have purchased and am really pleased with them. I don’t have problems putting an outfit together but just once in a while I see a superb outfit on “Morning Style” I wouldn’t have thought of and find this really helpful as well as some of the tips that are given including ideas for items I already have purchased from Q. Great show and great presenter!!
