Christmas shopping comes early
OK, so it was time once more this week for our annual Flint's day out 'up London', Christmas shopping. Truth be told, we did less shopping and more eating, drinking and gossiping this year!
Now we usually go in December, or end of November at least, but 'cos my sis Linda (left in pic) is soooo booked up nowadays, what with guesting on QVC (see below) and all, we ended up going on November 2nd. It did feel a bit less Christmassy I must say, but a good time was had by all, and I bought myself some wicked shoes in New Look – the black/blue platform Lady Gaga-esque ones you may have seen me in on air! I do love a nice pair of shoes for sure!
A mishap on the coffee shop order meant we got our drinks in duplicate! Meaning an overdose of soya latte for me – didn't mind at the time but funnily enough, got a bit of a flush a few days after! (see last week's post for significance of that!). But all in all it was another fun day out. Enjoyed it so much have booked mate LJ for another one soon, as well as son Brad!
As I mentioned – Linda my sis is now the guest for Red Carpet Manicure – the stuff I use on my own nails and have done most of the year – and my nails have never looked so nice! What's it all about? By demand, here's one of the items from the range – at time of writing, it's still in stock, and on 3 Easy Pay – and has the extended money back guarantee (till 25th January) so there's never been a better time to try it.
Don't forget to search for other colours on the website, and don't forget you can wear your own regular varnish over the top, just remove with non-acetone removers. Other than that I put mine on – once – and it lasts up to three weeks before it's grown up too far and needs to be redone! Stays shiny and everything! Can't rave about it enough! Lol! Just one thing – don't pick at stuff! Hehe! Or you'll lift the edges and it won't last as long! (OK, guilty as charged!) Lol.
Charlie Bears – most Tweets ever! Debbie – most presenter bears ever?
Some of my most beloved shows to present are always the ones dear to my heart, like Tiffany Style Lighting, 'cos I have tons of their lamps, and Antthony designs, 'cos I love him to bits! (back Nov 26/27 btw – that blue and white top in the Military Wives and Red Carpet clips this week is his.)
Well Charlie Bears comes into that category, so I was thrilled to be on with Will and Charlie this week with another Today's Special Value and a whole hour of collectable cuddlies. Will had an interesting theory when I showed them pics of some of my own collection!
It has to be said that Will's right, I probably do personally own the most! What's more, unbeknownst to the two of them, after the show – after promising myself I wouldn't succumb this visit – I just had to buy Larry – he’s just soooo soft! Anyway you guys then Tweeted me tons of your own pics and I ended up with the grand total of 42 Tweets – in about a half hour period! Amazing! Looking forward to their return.
P.S. To find your favourite shows on our schedule, did you know you can now search by the title of the show, or the brand, to see when the next whole hour is on next? Go here and try it!
Gift idea for youngsters who hate having their hair brushed! Had to show you this pic and tell you that my little niece Lara was over the moon about her Tangle Angel brush this week.
As I said to Richard Ward on air, his brush made her gasp with amazement that having her hair brushed didn't hurt! She then went off to brush her little sister's hair, who's just three! So Rich must be doing something right with it! Highly recommended! Brother Glenn, her dad, told me later that she hasn't been parted with it since!
Replay – The Military Wives – clip from the weekend shows. In keeping with last week's Mick Hucknall replay (see the PS below, by the way), I thought I'd bring you another chance to see a little clip from the Gift Show interview with the Military Wives – and one of their songs. I have to say it's a lovely album to relax to, and lots of recognisable songs sung in a typical 'choir-fashion' – a good gift for a nan if you're stuck! And still no P&P!
Facebook funny – oh how I love this little pic doing the rounds on Facebook this week – bless his little heart! If you can think of a caption – something the little doggy would be saying – do leave a comment below! Lol.
Blooper – not so much a blooper as a little snippet of something that rarely happens on QVC – Alison and I on together – at the start of the Beauty Day preview – with Alison doing something she rarely does either – very funny! But don't blink or you'll miss it! Lol.
WATCH - an EXCELLENT DVD for you this week – with some superb performances – not just the lead, award-nominated Christian Bale in the true story of a top boxer gone wrong, but also Mark Wahlburg and Amy Adams both brilliant in support.
'The Fighter' is like a 'Rocky' movie but with more grit and less cheese. Get it if you can – there's even a bit of a love story within it as well, and bro-mance, and edge of the seat directing – very good, very clever, very watchable. Do get it if you can! Let me know what you thought below. 8.75 out of ten for me (that's one of the highest if you're not used to my stingy scoring!)
QVC - our highly successful Saturday Night Gifts show continues this week at 8pm with a little twist – it's a New CID Makeover show – still with our usual green room behind the scenes moments and our competition etc! Join me if you can. And our Get Gorgeous event this weekend (Friday and Saturday) features some new clothing ranges – including Join Clothes with me at 11pm on Friday!
And don't miss the KitchenAid Today's Special Value on Wednesday through the day too! It's getting really busy now on air, and online – don't forget to search your favourite brands on qvcuk.com as you might find bargains you can't see elsewhere or buy in advance before the next live show! There you go – insider secrets for you! Lol.
Psssst! If I'm really giving away our secrets, make sure you book your place in front of the telly at 11pm on December 1st – especially if you're an Elemis fan. Yes, I said December 1st, ELEVEN pm!
Next week – a trip to see daughter Lauren in Bath – and another wonderful author interview – award-winner Sue Moorcroft will be here talking about her brand new paperback 'Dream a Little Dream', (go here for more info – deals available right now on Amazon! And your chance to win a signed copy once more! Come back next week! And meanwhile, do leave me a comment below, especially if you have any comments about our Saturday Night Gift shows!
P.S. Epecially for the Mick Fans out there – as requested, here's the other little behind the scenes interview with Mick Hucknall who was our guest on the Saturday show the week before!
