We’re looking forward to a great Bose show coming up on Sunday with some of your firm favourites, plus handy tips and advice from our experts. Speaking of which, we know you’ve probably seen Bose guest Daniel Baines on air a few times, so we thought it would be great to find out a little more about him – we’re nosy that way! Over to you Dan…
Well, I’m 42, a family man with two kids (2 year old twins) and a cat. I live in Hythe which is a very quiet seaside town… just the way I like it.
I have a passion for anything creative whether it’s looking at the latest Instagram, listening to new music, or building things. I come from an art and photography background which is still a passion for me, but found very early on that I have a way of explaining things to people in a way that they best understand. I am fuelled by curiosity. I like to know how things are, how they work. If you give me a subject I will read about it and want to find out more. I love the internet because of this!
In my current role with Bose this is what motivates me daily, being able to talk about and demonstrate benefits to customers that will be meaningful for them. The reaction that people have when they hear a song that has a connection to them is priceless to me, it makes my work so rewarding. Working on QVC has brought that challenge to another dimension… how do you uncover benefits and demonstrate them without having the person present with you? But I like the thought that something I might say may make them curious and trigger someone to try the products I talk about, knowing that once they get to play music for the first time they will be wowed!
I started at Bose over 14 years ago as a store manager in one of our retail stores. From there I became Customer Engagement Manager, then trainer for the UK. Today I am currently Training Manager for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand. If there is anything to know about a Bose product I should know it (but if I don’t know the answer I know someone who does).
My favourite Bose product (and I have many being in the position I am) is still the Wave Music System. It sounds so good and I mean everything I say when I describe it. It is the most flexible way to listen to music now that we have added our SoundTouch technology. You have to hear this to believe it and it wows me EVERY time I switch it on and play music.
Look out for this and more, see you on-air soon!
