Daniel has been a make-up artist for over 20 years and his true talent is making his photo-shoot looks wearable for real women and being able to show just how easy make-up can be.
Daniel has spent over four years developing his own cosmetics range, drawing from his experience as a professional make-up artist to create products that simplify make-up for everyday use.
How did your career in make-up start?
As a teenager living in trendy Chelsea in the mid eighties, I loved the way make-up could transform someone. I followed the trends and loved the music of the day such as Visage, Boy George, Toyah and Adam & The Ants.
My first break was assisting a well-known fashion make-up artist for the St Martin's College of Arts Degree Fashion show in London, which included John Galliano showcasing his first collection. It was also the first time I worked with Yasmin Le Bon, when she was about 16 years old.
This was my first experience within the fashion industry and it took off from there; I was hooked! I also worked in Paris, New York and Milan.
What makes your make-up stand out from the crowd?
Daniel Sandler Cosmetics is a British brand and is based on my make-up kit that I carry with me to use on celebs. I have over 25 years of experience working with all ages and skin tones so I really feel that I understand what a woman wants and needs for day or night from her make-up.
My line is flagshipped in one of London's top department stores and can also be found in many top salons and spas in the UK. The make-up is very often applied after facials, so it has to be a 'kind to the skin' range too.
In general, my products are clever and have multiple uses, such as my Waterbase Foundation with a concealer in the lid, or my Bronzing powders that can be used to sculpt and define cheekbones or even be used as eyeshadows or blushers.
Mine was one of the first UK make-up brands to have minerals as an important ingredient and many of my cosmetics are award winners.
Who would you love to makeover?
I'd have to say HRH, The Queen!
It's wedding season – how do we keep our make-up looking great all day?
Only use lightweight foundation so your skin looks naturally flawless. Apply waterproof eyeliner pencils and blushers. And finally, go easy on the moisturiser or it may make your make-up slide.
Catch Daniel's premiere show at 4pm on Thursday 19th August.
