Loving this Autumnal Feeling!

Hi all, how are you? I’m thoroughly enjoying a couple of weeks off for half term with the children and various visitors coming through : ) and the rather compliant weather is making it all the more wonderful!

Autumn is usually marked in our house by the donning of Emus. however this year I find myself regularly picking the wrong ones up as both Myles and Beely’s feet are within one size of mine (how did THAT happen? …can you guess which feet belongs to who??) ….sorting socks is a nightmare, I’ve had to start buying colour coded ones so I know whose are whose! Mine are striped, Beely’s patterned and Myles’s are dark.

So with cosy feet we are thoroughly enjoying this Autumn so far. It’s funny how some years it seems to come and go in the blink of the eye. The wind picks up and before you know it the trees are all bare but I feel somehow that this year it’s a calm one and so the leaves aren’t blown about just yet meaning wherever I turn, it’s a beautiful explosion of reds, yellows and oranges. I realise that part of that is also the joy of living in the country side which is always a blessing….and we’ve discovered loads of rose hips this year too so need to get out to pick some as we thought we’d make some cordial (and if it’s good enough, may even enter it into the village show next year!!)

Last weekend, we went for a lovely walk around Blenheim Castle which isn’t too far from us. It has the most beautifully kept grounds, stunning trees, gorgeous lake, the lot! Apparently the view behind our selfie is the one that Winston Churchill said is the best in England. To be honest I’m not sure I would agree, but it’s certainly up there : ) There’s something about taking a long walk isn’t there? It forces everything else to slow down, I find it really relaxing.

Then this weekend, marking the beginning of half term, we popped over to see QVC Guest Beverley Cressman as she had kindly offered to give one of my step sons a little lesson on her pony. Myles had a go after they were done, keen as ever but as expected, slightly too tall for Custard’s little legs!

So half term week has now begun and the first thing on the list for today is pumpkin shopping. I’ll tweet the pics (@Pipalive) ……..let’s see who wins the best face this year!

Much love
Pipa x
