Hello, hope you are well and thank you very much for reading my blog.
What a great week, did you catch the Beauty Awards show on Friday night? Here are a few highlights pics if you missed it, well done to all the nominees and winners!
I am writing this on 1st September – my favourite month is back! Last year around this time I wrote a poem on my blog and this year am running #LoveSeptember on my blog and on Twitter and would love to hear from you throughout this month about things you notice that you love.
For example, yesterday as I cycled across Waterloo Bridge here in London I noticed how much I love that view of this amazing city and I noticed how much I love spending time with my friend Javed as we had a picnic in the park. Just try and catch yourself when you realise there is something you love no matter how big or small and tell me what it is!
And talking of ‘love’, I am sure many of you may know and love a certain French brand of cookware called Le Creuset and guess what? It’s coming to QVC!!
I am a big fan of Le Creuset, can you believe my first piece of Le Creuset was a fondue set bought for me by an ex-partner after we had had delicious fondue on a trip to France in 1990! (I still have said fondue set, time for a fondue party methinks!) I also had a lovely big Le Creuset casserole dish when I lived in Paris but sadly that got damaged in a house move so I may well be ordering on Sunday!
The Today’s Special Value is wonderful, it’s a casserole pan that comes in a choice of two sizes and four colours. I was lucky enough to try out the ‘Volcanic’ colour in my own kitchen and it is as wonderful to cook in as I had remembered! The first thing I made in it were delicious Vitamix chocolate brownies (see last week’s blog) and they were baked to perfection, soft and moist on the inside with a lovely light crunch to the crust; I made one batch in the casserole and one shallower batch in the lid, yes you can use the lid to cook on too!
The second thing I made was a little healthier; a deliciously easy ratatouille; a tin of tomatoes, onions, courgettes, peppers & aubergine, bit of stock, garlic salt pepper and hey presto a lovely healthy meal that my family enjoyed on their recent trip to London. I served the ratatouille with a jacket potato, grated cheese and a big dollop of Easiyo yoghurt. What’s great about cooking in Le Creuset is that everything was perfectly cooked without me watching over it every five minutes and the flavours of the vegetables were just right. I plan to do a chicken pot roast over the weekend, yum! The pan is also beautiful enough to serve your meal at the table, a wonderful heritage brand and I feel so privileged to be the presenter that gets to launch Le Creuset at QVC.
Thank you for reading my blog and really hope you will join me on Sunday night for Le Creuset, I have a feeling it’s going to be a very busy launch!
Big big hugs
