Lovely to be back with you!

Pink Tropical FlowerLovely to be back with you after a quick week in beautiful Mauritius! It was such a pleasure to meet one of our lovely QVC viewers, Shirin, on my recent flight there.

A lady bedecked in Dreamkeeper and Attitudes by Renee, said "Hi" as I got on the plane, then shared her love of QVC. We continued our conversation as we left the plane and collected our bags…

QVC viewer from MauritiusShe then, having a house there, and living there for several months of the year, very kindly introduced me to her taxi driver, who became my guide round the island that week.

The highlight for me was an early morning trip to the East coast of the island to swim with wild dolphins. The mountainous landscape provided a beautifully picturesque backdrop for our solo boat, journeying into Tamarind Bay to find the dolphins.

I swam amongst them in the warm early morning sea. Bottle nose and spinners, adults and calves. It was truly magical, spiritual and very moving. Something I will never forget.

I am very grateful to her for her kindness and welcome to Mauritius. I loved the island and hope to return one day.

It was a great consolation returning to Beauty Month here at QVC… So many fantastic brands and new products to try!

Obviously I took Ultrasun away with me as my sun protection. I Ultrasun 20SPF Glimmer lotiontried the Ultrasun Glimmer SPF20 which I loved!

I like it so much I have found myself putting it on in the evening, even when I don't need sun factor, just because I love the shimmer it gives the skin, so much!

I also tried the Tinted Face SPF30, which was fantastic and meant I could go make-up free, as well as an old favourite for me, the easy to apply Ultrasun Sport and After Sun - in this kit it comes with Face SPF30 too.

I didn't have the Daily UV Hair Protector in time to take with me, but will be trying that out now the sun has appeared here in London!

Benefit is a brand I always reach for when I want to gift make-up to friends. It has beautiful packaging, fun messages and a feel good factor to all the products. It also delivers great results which are proven by Benefit They're Real mascaramany, being award-winning in the industry.

I have been trying a new eyeliner/remover combination. They're Real Push-up Liner is a unique pen style applicator. Makes drawing the line really easy and really opens the eye brilliantly, to make your eyes look huge.

I know their mascara in the same range is fantastic, so as a combination I'm sure would be beautiful. If you need a gentle but really effective waterproof remover I've been trying They're Real Remover too, which works a treat. I will never give up or deviate from my Gatineau Floracil eye make-up remover but when you need the extra power, the Benefit They're Real Remover has to be worth trying.

Studio 10 makeup kitI've also had the pleasure of trying these Studio 10 kits on a few recent evenings out. Beautiful textures, gorgeous glow to the blusher, and the highlighter and shader do all the work for you if you follow where they say put it… and with the professional brushes, you can't go wrong… gorgeous!

Anyway, I wish you all happy sunny days wherever possible. Look forward to hearing from you – Are you enjoying Beauty Month? And do you have any holiday plans this summer …?

Much Love, Sara x

    Hi Sara,
Firstly, how wonderful that you met such a nice lady on the plane and then you were able to see so much of the island. Your descriptions are magical, particularly swimming with the dolphins. It sounds like you completely immersed yourself in the whole, wonderful experience. I am now in my 40s and have never been to Mauritius (yet!) but it’s somewhere I’ve known about since I was very young as my sister’s Godmother was born there. When I was 11, a school project was to choose a country and write all about it – I chose Mauritius! I learnt all about its’ sugar cane history and enjoyed it always intending to visit there one day. I still have time!
I am so glad you had a wonderful time, you deserve it!
    All the very best,
    Beth XX.

Wow! I have just noticed your reply. Thank you Sara for replying. Shirin got back on Sat evening; we went to pick her up. While Shirin was in Mauritius, I was the first one to read your blog. I sent the link to her daughter and to her but she could not open it there. As soon as she got home I showed it to her from my phone before she even got to her laptop. She was smiling and was very pleased. You are so very sweet Sara; indeed I would love to meet you. I am a QVC fan too. I buy quite a lot…I am always telling people about it! I pray that life is treating you well and you are enjoying the good weather. Mauritius is indeed a lovely place. God bless you and your family Sara; you are very close to our hearts. I certainly look forward to meet you some day. Much love and many blessings :-)xx

    Dear Beth,
Thank you for such kind wishes. I really wish you the opportunity to visit Mauritius having had it in your mind for so long… I really believe in the power of manifestation, so I’m sure if you send that wish into the Universe it will materialise. Thank you for writing, it’s lovely to hear from everyone who we do so enjoy doing the shows for.
    Much love, Sara x

    Hi Susan,
Am very lucky as he travels extremely well. 12 hr flight no problem – I never mind a long flight either. I always think it’s like being unwell in bed, with everything brought to you, but without being ill! I love just having to be still for hours and having time to just relax and genuinely not have to be doing anything. It’s almost like suspended reality between moments in life…
Thanks for your message. Appreciate you writing.
    Love,
    Sara x
