I've worked in Liverpool a couple of times and, of course, have visited our award-winning call centre but have never had the time to wander around and I do like a good mooch!
We arrived on Valentine's Day and stayed at a lovely hotel right in the city centre. That night we walked down to the Albert Docks where I'd booked an American-style restaurant for dinner, which the kids loved. We had a waterfront table, which was lovely, and the docks were illuminated with a giant projected heart for Valentine's, which made it really special.
We spent the next few days shopping, eating and exploring. We did a duck sightseeing city tour, which you can also do in central London, where you start off on land then crash into the water and the bus turns into a boat! We went to the Beatles museum and sought out the original Cavern club (pictured above), played indoor crazy golf and rode the Echo wheel.
So Liverpool, for me, comes highly recommended as a great place to spend a few days, no doubt I'll be chatting about the vibrant city and all things X Factor with MARCUS COLLINS when he pops into QVC on Monday night to entertain us with his brand new album!
Marcus got our family's vote every week during X Factor last year so I can't wait to meet him. I've had a sneak preview of the album and it sounds fantastic!
See you on Monday at 7pm
