Liz Earle’s Caroline Archer talks 18 years at QVC!

Liz and Caroline, Customer event November 2004Iconic British beauty brand Liz Earle are celebrating 18 years on QVC this month! We caught up with Brand Ambassador Caroline Archer to chat about some of her special memories over the past years…

Hi everyone,

When we first launched Liz Earle on QVC back in 1996, we knew it was the start of something special. Literally within 30 minutes, we’d sold out of our ‘core four’ products – Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Instant Boost Skin Tonic, Skin Repair Moisturiser and Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish - 21205918 years on and hundreds of shows later, Cleanse & Polish still remains a firm customer favourite, scooping the QVC Customer Beauty Award for Best Cleanser every year since the awards launched in 2009 – quite an accolade.

There have been so many runaway successes and amazing customer stories that I could share, but here are some of my favourite memories from our 18 beautiful years on QVC…

Our first outside broadcast on the Isle of Wight (2002)
In 2002 we invited Julia Roberts and the QVC team to our tranquil homeland, the Isle of Wight, for our first live outside broadcast. It was a beautiful day and the shows really captured the peaceful and reviving atmosphere of the island. It was a very special moment for us to share with you at home.

My QVC debut (2007)
I’d been hosting TV shopping shows abroad with Liz since 2005, but my UK debut came with Ali Keenan and Liz a few years later. I remember that first show well – laughing when Liz and Ali admitted that they iron their muslin cloths. As a 20-something at the time, I thought this was incredibly funny. But now, in my late 30s, I too have to admit that I love an ironed muslin!

Liz Earle Creamy Shower Nectar & Silky Body Lotion - 205068My ongoing love for our products
My love for our hero, Cleanse and Polish (pictured above) is still as strong now as it was the day I joined the team in 1999, and I still so fondly remember my first Liz Earle experience with Instant Boost Skin Tonic, as recommended by my big sister.

Now I have some new favourites: Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash spells fun at bathtime for my two small girls and Sheer Skin Tint is my newest saviour for the rushed school run! I’ve also seriously fallen for our Vanilla & Saffron Silky Body Lotion – luxury in a bottle, and ensures such beautifully fragranced skin, all day long.

The Liz Earle car
Just a fun final thought… Have you seen our Liz Earle team whizzing around London and up and down the A3 to Portsmouth? We have a branded car, and if you ever see us, we’re probably on our way to QVC so give us a wave!

Do come and share our special memories with us on Tuesday 18th (11am, 5pm, 10pm) and Wednesday 19th March (11am, 2pm, 9pm). We’d love to hear your stories too so please do call in, tweet or post on our Facebook page.

Look forward to seeing you then!

Caroline X

Ps. There will be a very special guest appearance at 9pm on Wednesday, so be sure to tune in…

QVC's very own Will Gowing and Julia Roberts were also reminiscing about Liz Earle over the years, take a look at their chat in Will's blog here.

Just met Lennie of Nina Leonard at the airport! don’t know where he had flown in from but he looked great! much better that I did having just travelled 36 hours from Melbourne. He said to look out for the great deals coming up – I will!
