I can’t believe I’m now three weeks into my new job. Everyone has been so lovely and I’m having the best time. The kids also love their school so it feels like life is falling into place for our family.
The only downfall to the kids being at school is that they’re picking up lots of cold like bugs… which unfortunately I have then picked up from them! This resulted in a big coughing fit on air. Oh dear! So I’ve made a huge pot of veg soup to get some vitamins in me. It’s actually delicious! I’ve frozen lots and I’m having it for lunch every day and feeling much better, thank goodness.
Something that we had to do this week that wasn’t that wonderful, but needing doing, was to take Izzy for a check-up with her paediatric surgery team. Isobella has a throat condition, she is what’s known as a TOF baby. She was born without an oesophagus, which we only discovered when she was born. So, weighing only 5lb, as she was five weeks early, she had surgery to create one.
She’s now a very happy, healthy and thriving little girl, but as she has scar tissue in her throat that makes her prone to choking so we have to watch what she eats. She’s been having a few episodes lately so we went to Chelsea and Westminster hospital to have a chat with her paediatric surgeons and she’s going to have a stretch. It’s a very quick procedure where they put a balloon down her throat and gently open up the area for her, but she will have to go under general for it, which is never nice. She’s a total diamond about it all and never complains. They have a huge fish-tank in the lobby so we always pop and say hello.
When you’ve had to do something that makes you feel a bit flat, something that will always lift your spirits is CAKE!! Our Big Deal next week on QVC Christmas is from The Original Cake Company. It’s a fantastic selection of their beautiful hand-baked decorated and packaged cakes. Amazing as individual gift ideas or just to keep for yourself. These will keep past Christmas, if you can resist eating them! So it’s a great time to tick one item off your Christmas shopping list.
We visited my sister in-law and her family in Marple Bridge, near Manchester, this weekend and took some up with us. It was a huge success!
We have more Big Deals next week, remember we are now running three a week for you!
We have a great set from Studio 10 that launched on QVC Beauty this past Sunday (22nd October).
And if you want an illuminator, radiance crème and highlighter all in one, their Youth Lift Glow-plexion is amazing! This only has 5 star reviews on our website and is currently only available on waitlist… so get ahead of the pack and join us this evening at 6pm on QVC Beauty for the first live airing of this amazing Big Deal! Plus you’ll get the vegan friendly brush to apply both products.
And on QVC Style the Big Deal is a fabulous coat from Centigrade, there’s a range of colours, it’s so warm and stylish and perfect now as the weather is that bit cooler.
Our beauty pick of the month on QVC is this Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil from Elemis, and if you’re like me find that your skin feels dry and tight, and lacks hydration you will love this.
I’m keeping this by my bed, so that I remember to pop it on at night. The bottle is beautiful and it smells of gorgeous coconut. I think this would make a lovely special gift for a friend or relative. We’re all so busy we often forget to take care of ourselves and this is a lovely treat. My skin is definitely feeling the benefits already.
QVC Style has moved! As of 19th October we are now on SKY 653. Please make a date in your diary to join us there for our live hours Mon-Fri 4pm – 6pm.
And don’t forget that QVC Extra is now QVC Christmas… ho ho ho.
Thank you so much for all your kind messages of support and welcome, I now have an i-Pad so will be able to access your messages or item queries on air.
Have a wonderful weekend.
See you soon,
