Knit tunic and trouser set by Nina LeonardOur Today's Special Value this Wednesday 23rd January comes from Nina Leonard – it's a chic knitted tunic and trouser set. The flattering tunic features contrasting cuffs and hemline with co-ordinating slim-leg trousers – a versatile set which can be worn in any number of ways with your existing wardrobe.

We caught up with the inimitable Lenny Feinberg – the powerhouse behind Nina Leonard – to find out a little more…

What do you love about being on QVC?

Having spent the better part of 30+ years in the fashion industry, I can honestly say that I am more excited, and more passionate about what I do today than I have ever been.

Lenny in his studioBeing a native New Yorker, living and working here my whole life, it has been particularly exciting over the past several years to meet women via QVC TV all around the globe. In Italy, Germany and most fondly here in the UK where television all began for me.

London is most definitely my home away from home and where I feel a very personal and special bond with 'My Ladies' on the other side of the TV screen.

Tell us about the Today's Special Value set

The Today's Special Value outfit is a combination of fashion and function… a perfect example of "Real Clothes for Real Women." This time of year, when the weather is at its coldest, ladies love to feel 'toasty' and 'tasteful' all at the same time!

Comfortable knits and especially relaxed pants with a co-ordinating post-holiday, figure-flattering tunic seems like the perfect solution to spark up the mid-winter wardrobe blues.

Who are the Nina Leonard ladies?

We at Nina Leonard have always focused on creating affordable, quality clothes for real women living real lives. We want to address the needs and desires of the lady who always wants to look and feel like a lady. We want her to put on a Nina Leonard outfit and feel like a million dollars.

In fact I've been told by our viewers time and time again, that when they are wearing Nina Leonard they get more compliments that day… of course, that's music to my ears!

The initial sketches below are from the new collection and upcoming designs. (Click on the image for a closer look)

What inspires you?
For me, the design process is a part of my everyday life. I don't experience life in 'categories' that distinguish my personal persona from my professional one… it's all one and the same for me. Inspiration comes from every aspect of my life without limitations, and often when least expected, that's when it's most exciting for me.

We have always wanted our ladies to look and feel like they have spent a fortune – without having to and I believe when she's wearing Nina Leonard, we've accomplished that.

Keep them guessing!

Hi there loving the range from Nina Leonard and I just may cheer myself in these cold and snowy conditions… And I already have some
of the lovely dresses. The last one I ordered was a black one at the end of November, and with good reason…My Dad passed away the same day, however I’ll wear it for other occasions as well.
Keep bringing these lovely designs they’re brilliant!

LOVE THE MATT JERSEY TROUSERS 146771. Have two pairs in small in black. Best trousers I have ever worn – so comfortable and flatering. Have been wanting a pair in chocolate for some time now but they always seem to be sold out in small.
PLEASE Lenny bring the chocolate back into stock (possibly make them in charcol also) and I will SO happy!

Poor Lenny has passed away, I don’t know what he died of, as no one comments on him as you all say.
I love his godet back cardigans, I have every colour now, but would love WHITE. I hope his company can do white.
I will really miss Lenny, he was such fun and wouldn’t miss his show ever. RIP dear Lenny.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Lenny. He always came across as a warm, kind man, full of life and very talented man. God bless you and your family, Lenny. You will be sorely missed.

I just discovered that it is said Lenny of Nina Leonard has died . I have been wondering why he never appears on QVC UK anymore no one ever mentions him. There isn’t even a NY Times obituary or any mention of his death anywhere it is quite strange. He was such an entertaining man and I miss him very much. I do think his many followers deserve to know what happened to him so suddenly but not a word to be found anywhere. I am so sad.

I also wondered why Lenny had not been on QVC for a while, and have only recently found out about him passing – read it on Jackie Kabler’s blog. I also can’t find anything else on the web that mentions him, or how he died, very strange as he was a well known and successful designer. He was so entertaining and his clothes are nice too – have a few pieces in his range. Maybe his family did not want to release details. Perhaps we will know in time.

I am so sad too learn of Lenny’s passing away. Why QVC haven’t said a little something I don’t know. I have lots of his items and in the past couple of weeks bought some lovely jacket style cardigans. They are lovely quality as always from this range. So sad

Just found out that Lenny of Nina Leonard has died. How? Was he ill? I watch and buy all the time from
QVC and especially his clothes. No special mention or tribute – heard about Philip Kingsley – RIP to both.

Yes, please can someone tell us what happened to Lennie. His demeanour the last few times he was presenting did suggest he was not himself. I have searched endlessly for information but there is absolutely nothing to be found which is quite unbelievable, given his profile in New York.

I also have just learnt of Lenny passing away. I watch QVC such a lot and very surprised that he is not mentioned. Every time I have seen Nina leonard on QVC for ages now there’s been no sign of Lenny so I decided to google him and that’s how I found out this terrible news which has saddened me greatly. He was a larger than life character who came across as a very lovely warm genuine person. I loved watching him on tv. His personality and great sense of humour were so infectious and such a talented man. I should have guessed he had died as it was obvious how much he loved coming to the UK and QVC. His passion for his brand was second to none and I don’t think anything would have stopped him coming other than being very ill or passing away. He was amazing and a treat to watch on QVC. Left this earth far too soon. RIP Lenny and love to Nina and his family.

Just found out too! I’d thought it odd that he no longer did the Nina Leonard shows and kept meaning to check why this could be. Can’t believe it’s so long since he was last at QVC UK – time sure flies! RIP Lennie.
