Lots of you commented on Twitter and on here about the show that I did with Joan Collins last Friday. It is amazing to think of the icons of the film industry that she has worked alongside through her long and illustrious career, and she is still working hard.
Along with her Timeless Beauty range that she presents for QVC, she is currently filming for the TV series 'Benidorm'. Her stylist took this shot of the two of us together and I liked it so much that I have cropped it and used it as my avatar on Twitter.
She was very funny in one of the breaks in the show. We were running a promo for the Spanx TSV and Joan asked me if I wore them. When I replied that I was wearing them right then she reached across and pinged my waistband … I kid you not!!
Earlier this week I met another very glamorous lady, a former Miss World no less. Wilnelia Forsyth (yes, Brucie's wife) had come into QVC to have a run through for the show I am presenting with her next Thursday at 2pm.
She has designed a range of stunning handbags, beautifully made in Italy using fine Italian leather, and one of the bags is based on an original painting done by the lady herself. The image will also appear on a chiffon scarf that we will be selling … lovely birthday present idea if you know anyone celebrating soon. Today is Catherine Huntley's birthday, Monday is Charlie's and I'm on Tuesday … I'll leave you to guess who is the oldest!!!
Hopefully my mum is coming to visit for a few days from Sunday for my birthday and also for her first view of our new house. I think she will love the garden in particular and she has a white cherry bush that she bought for me a couple of months ago that we need to find a home for. She has also not met Wilfie before … I need to warn her that he occasionally nips when he gets excited.
I wonder if any of you watched the programme about cats on Monday night on ITV? It was a fascinating insight into some of the things we watch them do on a daily basis, and it's amazing how similar in some ways our domestic cats are to their jungle cousins. Wilfie found the programme interesting too and even Poppy's attention was captured for a few minutes.
It made me realise just how young our former cat, Charlie, was when we found him as his eyes were barely open … he could only have been two weeks old and we managed to save him, much to the surprise of the vet!
Well, the electrician arrived on Monday to wire up the lights and the sockets in the new 'gym' so I just need a flatscreen TV/DVD player and I'll be more or less ready to go in there – apart from the floor and the painting. The outside is due to be painted this Wednesday, provided it stays dry.
I must confess I haven't done a workout at all this week as I have been busy writing but I did manage to get a bit of gardening in on Wednesday before the rain started, so I guess that was a bit of exercise. All my planters and hanging baskets are looking pretty now and I'm sure will grow quickly as I watered them in with lots of Richard Jackson's Flower Power.
Well I must dash now as I have a date with yet another glamorous lady, Tova Borgnine, at 7pm. Prior to that I have Country Candles at 4pm and this week's Fashion on Friday is Rieker footwear with lots of new styles.
Have a great weekend.
P.S. With a month of international football on the horizon, check back next week for the chance to enter a competition with an amazing prize that might just help you get match-fit for summer!
