Cairns Digging in Charlie Brook's garden 2

How to keep your home clean with muddy dogs!

As I write this I have a little ache in my lower back. Ouch! I’ve been playing a great deal of tennis recently including three hours this morning.

The weather has been glorious for play, if a little cold. The cold doesn’t really affect me other than my hands which really feel the chill. Not ideal for a racket sport!

As I type this, I’m listening to Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 and watching my two Cairns continue their quest for treasure. They’ve been digging at this hole for a few weeks now. I’ve no idea what they think is underground or what they’re going to achieve but they have a real obsession with that part of the garden!

They dig and dig and dig some more. Then they push their nose deep into the hole and sniff. They then look up at me with their little faces caked in mud!

H2O water after carpet cleaningThey come back into the house filthy! Thankfully I have the H2O steam mop to hand for the kitchen floor. Because their coats are so coarse the mud just brushes out.

The whole of the downstairs is tile and wooden floor – which is ideal when you have dogs and you’re constantly cleaning up!

Upstairs is carpeted so Misty and Bramble aren’t allowed up there… Although they have been known to sneak up every now and then!

Talking of carpet it leads me nicely on to talk about the VAX Today’s Special Value which I’m launching Wednesday, 21st January at midnight.

I was asked to try out the machine. It’s a fabulous model and not too dissimilar to a VAX which I already have.

It had been a while since I last cleaned our landing carpet. The results were astonishing – the proof being in the murky water which I collected. I’m a little embarrassed, if I’m honest, to show just how dirty the carpet was! It’s done a terrific job and not only does the carpet look cleaner and brighter but it’s put bounce back into the pile too.

We have secured a brilliant price, which our buyer here at QVC has hinted to me. It really is incredible. Do hope you can join me.

Also thrilled to see I’m presenting two hours of Diamonique this Monday 19th January at 6pm. In fact we have a wide variety of shows as it’s the first day of Diamonique week. Do hope you can join me – I have some real treats in store for you.

In the meantime, watch the short video clip of my Cairns digging! What are they after? Any ideas?

Take care and see you soon.

    Morning Charlie.
OUCH…I know how you feel with your lower back. I’m still having back/ hip problems. I think mine is due to lifting and trying to move mum when she isn’t too well. Hope your back get’s better soon.
Bramble looks the picture of health now.
Bella has just been watching your little video of Misty and Bramble….Oh dear.. I’ve got an over excited little dog again. She does like watching them [ as you know.]
I’m not a winter person. I love the warmth, [ thankfully ] I have my Uggs and Emus to keep my feet warm. Unfortunately not from QVC though [ from OZ:] as you don’t do my size [ size 1 or 2].
I’ll be watching the Vax show’s as I need a new hoover.
    Take care.
    Bella say’s a big Whoof.

Hi Debby and huge whoofs to Bella too!

Do hope your back is feeling better. It’s amazing how the simplest of tasks can cause so much pain. I once had a severe muscle spasm under my right shoulder blade. It was excruciating, I could hardly move.

Better warn you… There’s another Misty and Bramble video clip on my latest blog!!

    All the best
