Just thought I'd highlight Wednesday's Today's Special Value in my blog this week, because it's SO good!!
It's called a Czech cooker and is inspired by an Eastern European cooking method dating back to World War II, but it's now been updated and uses the latest technology.
Recipes you can cook up
I borrowed a Czech cooker for an evening, and decided to make up my own recipe based on what I found in my fridge. You can cook so many dishes - from roast chicken with potatoes and veggies to delicious cakes. From toad-in-the-hole (yum yum!) to toasted sandwiches, stews, lamb chops or grilled fish.
I put in a little oil and added some ground ginger, cayenne pepper and turmeric. I let this roast a little under the variable heat from the lid of the cooker to develop the flavours.
Then I added chopped chicken and some prawns and browned these for a few minutes. You can see when they need a stir though the window in the lid.
Then I added some rice and frozen peas, tipped in some stock and replaced the lid for about half an hour, stirring occasionally. The end result was devoured by Billy, Charlie and his girlfriend Hannah. They definitely approved!
Times when this cooker comes in handy…
If you're oven-less or hob-less at the moment, this has to be one of the best ways to cook up all sorts of delicious snacks and meals. It's ideal whether you're doing up your kitchen, off in your motor home or caravan for a holiday or heading off to a tiny student room at university.
If you eat alone or as a couple it will be indispensible, but I fed five of us so it will be great for a family too. Give it a go, and let me know what you think. I'll be first in the queue for mine!

Hi Kathy, I really wanted one of the Czech cookers but couldn't stretch to it at the time and wonder if you know when there will be more in stock as I just must have one!!!

Hi Jacky
There's a bit of a wait, I'm afraid, as we're not expecting the Czech cooker back until the end of November. But the good news is that we are hoping to 're-TSV' it as so many people were disappointed, so the price will be just as good. Watch out for the 25th Nov!
