Join us for Silver Day!

Well hello there!

Life my end has been, (and is) far from calm and serene, in fact I feel mostly like a swan – calm upper with mad activity occurring beneath the water! So whilst I could witter on endlessly about socket placement and staircases, (both of which are a sore subject today!!!) I'll protect you from the dullness of the building news, (for now anyway) and stride deftly onto something that brings more than a smile to my face.

March 30th, and the phenomenon that is Silver Day!

Over the past years I personally have been delighted with the path our silver buyers have taken, bringing more and more designer-looking pieces with huge influences from the fashions and colours we all love in our clothes. The result is a range of silver that surely has to satisfy even the most discerning of us!

Silver Day has us all excited…

A day such as Silver Day truly has us all excited. I mean imagine for a second the amount of love, dedication, skill and knowledge that goes into the day we have ahead of us. Those girlies upstairs, (as I affectionately call them,) must have been awaiting it with bated breath – hoping and trusting they have got it right and that all their work will be appreciated.

The thing to realise is that they SO know what they're doing, by that I mean they tirelessly and passionately work to see what you want and then push push push to achieve it for you. Now if that means designing a piece because it's not yet available…then that's what they do. If it means sourcing the globe for a particular gem to work with, then that's what they do. If they have to drive an impossible bargain so it's affordable for us…then THAT'S WHAT THEY DO!!!! – If you're catching my drift!!!

So, what does Silver Day hold for us all? Ok I'll endeavour to let you have a taster… If you're of the Big, Bold and Beautiful mindset, you are going to be so overwhelmed! The thrilling colours of the stones we have are unashamedly and outrageously fabulous. I loved parading in the stunning necklaces and had to be forced to remove them at the end of our video shoot!!

A smorgasbord of silver!

The new shows – Ruby Zoisite at 3pm and Silver Boutique at 7pm must not be missed and I for one (especially with spring/summer's delicious pastel palette) will be looking to acquire some pieces from the incredible on-trend Blush selections in which you'll find oyster greys and dusty soft lilacs with fab contemporary styling…and let's never forget the abundance of inspiration that Mother Nature has to offer, artfully captured in the Back to Nature styles. Forget house building for a second there are rather more spectacular needs in life!!!! (Ssshhhh do NOT tell Dan)

If however the simplicity of fluid silver design wins you over every time and you appreciate the completeness of just silver, (if that's not deemed rude to silver!) then Simply Silver fashions will be your pleasure.

So with that smorgasbord to whet your appetite I'm dying to know what you love… Let me know won't you. I shall be presiding over the morning hours like a broody mother hen, hoping like the girls upstairs, that Yes – they've got it right and that you're as blown away by Silver Day as we all are!

And if you're champing at the bit to see the sort of jewellery we'll be showcasing on Silver Day, check out our fab Silver selection!

Can't wait!

Lots of love Claire xxx

    Hi Claire
Nice to hear from you again, my heart is with you, all this building work, we had to go through it for 2 years, but once it is finished I am sure you”ll love it and enjoy it.
I”ve always been a Gold girl, never bought Silver, but thanks to QVC for the last 2 years I bought a lot of Silver, and I can”t wait for Silver day, I”ll be watching. I need to buy a silver chain and I love QVC Gems in Silver.
I just checked out the preview and Iam going to order the Honey Quartz earrings, they look fab, thanks for the tip.
Take care, and have a great Easter, and don”t work too hard.
    Lots of Love.

Hello Claire, each decision you make about the house is a step further towards it being finished. Just imagine your chandelier hanging where you want to put it with everyone there safe, warm and all the fun of family life going on. It will be finished.
I only wear silver. I may be female but I don’t like pink, gold in any colour, diamonds (unless they are rough) or faceted stones. I will be watching some of silver day but I have to sit on my hands and be good as I have a limited income. It also happens to be my husband’s birthday so I had better look after him too. I do hope that everyone has a good time on the day and that the buyers are right. I’m sure they will be.
Remember – the house will be finished!
Hugs to you and your family

HI Claire, hope you have had a less stressful few days; silver day sounds fab and as I have birthday money to spend I shall see what I can although I will be at work so will have to catch up via the internet. As I said it was my birthday Friday (26th) but not one of the best. My son was in hospital as he had fractured the T7 vertebrae in his back on Tuesday and was on complete bedrest, not even allowed to get up to the loo. I had spent the nights with him sleeping on a chair but Friday night he had caught a bug of the spew and poo variety so I spent the day with him playing monopoly and the evening mopping up a continual mess. He was really poorly bless him. He came home today but is only allowed to sit, lay down and only walk to the loo. He will be reviewed in 3 weeks but no sport for 8 weeks; he playes indoor and outdoor cricket and rugby so is gutted however the orthopod said he had been very lucky so we count our blessings. Enjoy silver day, I am looking forward to spending!!! Love Mary

Mary…..oh my word…..I can`t believe it, what a disaster! My birthday on the thursday was terribly uneventful compared to yours, and to have THE bug to top it off….testing your mummy skills let`s just say! Thank god it sounds as if he`s escaped ok ish, but still a tough time for him..and you as he attempts to stay static…You deserve a treat today! Just getting sorted, the getting ready takes soooo long these days!!!, see you on there!

Hi Claire – Im sure once all the works are done the house will look lovely.
I too am very excited about Silver Day as I love Silver, but I can honestly say I am very disappointed with the TSV – I cannot understand why it has been picked for a TSV as there is not much silver on it, surely thats the point of a TSV on Silver Day? I am looking forward to buying some of the other pieces though, as I too have birthday money to spend. Hope you all enjoy the day. Lyn

    Hi Lyn,
I know what you mean…it is a strong point! and i should think echoed, however I know it was selected as it`s so well priced and is a look our buyers have been asked for so much… I do love it though, I hope you`re finding pieces for that birthday money?!
    Love CLAIRE X

Hi Clare, just got home from work and managed to catch the end of the zoisite hour and have ordered the large ring and stretch bangle. Both on waitlist but I am sure they will be worth the wait. Jack getting fed up with doing nothing, the novelty of having everything done for him has quickly worn off!!! Have a great fin ish to Silver Day. Love Mary x

Hi Claire, Silver day is fantastic as always, been trying to sit on my hands and not order as I am trying to save to do some decorating, but have failed miserably so far! LOL!!!!!! Hope it goes well with the house and once I get home from work will be glued to my telly for the rest of the day. Been checking in on line so although I’ve missed the live shows, I’ve got an idea of what’s been showing on air.

Hello Claire, I succumbed to the cloudy grey quartz ring and the picasso marble concave bracelet. Other than that I was very good. I hope that the problems with the socket placement and staircase are sorted out without too much hassle. I am sure they won’t be the only problems that crop up but I am sure that you and Dan will be able to sort them out with ease. Keep working on it Claire.
    Hugs to all

Hello Claire, I am watching you on Silver Statements and saw the purple version of the multi-strand stretch bracelet break on you. I have a bee in my bonnet about stretch bracelets and QVC at present. I bought the grey picasso jasper cuff stretch bracelet and loved it. I am having to return it as the bracelet is held together by two fine filaments of elastic running through each set of the holes and one filament in one set of holes was broken. The stones were thick and polished and beautiful but it was let down by the elastic. I am using the return facility obviously and I have read about other people who have encountered bracelets that are threaded onto thin elastic. I have sent a message through a Customer Services representative and via the contact us facility. I know there are multi-filament strong elastics out there and would love it if you (if you have the time) could talk to the Buyers and suggest they buy much stronger elastics for their stretch bracelets as they are going to end up with a lot of unsold items. It seems unfair to have someone cut stones and polish them well and then thread them on elastic that just doesn’t hold it.
I live in hope that this can be done and I loved the picasso jasper bracelet but it would be useless to buy a replacement.
    Hugs and thanks

    Hi Tina,
Will do, talk to the buyers that is, it`s odd as we do some on some strong threads and then some, as we find out… that are less so. I promise I`ll discuss for you, me and everyone else! Love Claire x

Hi Claire, thank you. I just received a stretch bracelet in black onyx and carnelian by Ros Kwan (Gems of the Orient) which is on excellent elastic (item no. 673380). She said it is the strongest available in jewellery making. If the Buyers got the producers to use this constantly even if it costs more I think things might improve.
Hope the house is going well!
Hugs and love to you all
