John Barrowman comes to QVC

John BarrowmanJohn Barrowman will be appearing with me on QVC this Friday (26th February) at 2pm!
I am delighted to have been asked to join John Barrowman for his guest appearance on QVC to promote his new album simply called 'John Barrowman'.

This is the album that he has been dying to make and it reflects simply his first love, musical theatre. Each track has an emotional relevance for John. 'So Close' from Disney's 'Enchanted' was recorded with Jodie Prenger, the winner of the reality show 'I'd Do Anything' and was recorded for his niece, Clare.

'You'll Never Walk Alone' from Carousel was sung to him as a child by his mother and there's also 'I Won't Send Roses' from Mack and Mabel, one of my all time favourite musicals.

John was born in Glasgow and spent time in the USA with his parents and while studying the arts in San Diego before returning to England. I love his story as to why he speaks with an American accent even though he's from Glasgow. I will get him to tell you all on Friday.

John and I were treading the boards, as they say, at the same time in the West End and without realising we crossed paths many times, even though we were across the way in Theatres.

When I was in '42nd St' at Drury Lane, John was making his West End debut playing Billy Crocker in  'Anything Goes' at the Prince Edward Theatre. I was off for one night resting a knee injury and hobbled to the Prince Edward to see the show that everyone was raving about.

It was fabulous and a new star was born. Other shows followed for John, including 'Miss Saigon', 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Chicago', 'Le Cage Aux Folles' and 'Sunset Boulevard' playing opposite Betty Buckley and Elaine Page.

John is a huge fan of QVC and you may remember he phoned in one evening during my show with Malcolm from Lock & Lock, it must have been my kitchen skills that so impressed him. Yeah, right!

As well as talking about his new album on Friday, John will be staying with me to talk about some of his favourite QVC products.
See you on Friday at 2pm for John Barrowman's QVC debut appearance.

Love and laughter,
Jill x

I cannot believe it. John Barrowman on QVC. I have two teenage boys here who are massive fans of Torchwood, and would like to know if there is going to be anymore.
Just to say that my family and I were in Cardiff over Christmas and New Year, it is our other home as my husband works their, and we had tickets booked for the pantomine at the New Theatre in Cardiff, but unfortunately John had been taken poorly a couple of nights before with a very bad chest infection so he did not play “Robin Hood”, I was so disappointed, I just adore him, and his voice.
Hope you are much better now John.
I watched Fern Britton’s last show on “This Morning” and he he started the show off by singing “Can’t take my eyes off you” by Andy Williams, he made me melt, that was the song my husband and I picked for our “first dance” on our Wedding Day back in 1987.
Please get him to sing it for all us girls, what a way to spend your Friday afternoon, we have the adorable Charlie and Will with their bears whom I love so very much, I have my purchases already picked, and the one and only Mr Barrowman.
QVC this is amazing, my Birthday is on the 14/3, it’s Mothers’s Day too, so this is a real treat.
Thankyou too all at QVC, whoever will it be next, we have Lulu, John Barrowman and ……
Lots of love to everyone at QVC and John of course

    Hi John and Jill
Best wishes for the show, great to see John on QVC, would be great if other celebs supported such a good company, just wanted to ask John a question,
“Any chance that John and David Tennant might do other projects together, they work so well together and I think they would be great in a comedy, not as Jack and the Dr but some other character”
Anyway best wishes for the Album and hope you have a great day at QVC, Luv Diane Simpson-Scott, Washington, Tyne & Wear
