Joe McElderry at Breast Cancer Care fashion showWe had a very special guest on the Morning Show on 4th October when Joe McElderry came to visit our studios.

Joe performed a few songs and spoke to us about his brand new album, 'Here's What I Believe' which you can watch at the end of this blog.

Joe also did a great performance at the Breast Cancer Care fashion show yesterday so we caught up with Joe after he came off air to ask him all about the show…

How did you find the Breast Cancer Care show yesterday?

I loved it, there was an amazing atmosphere and the room was full of inspirational people. I had a great time as I really love doing events for charity.

Did you stay around after the afternoon show?

I did, I stayed for the evening show as well. There was a great atmosphere at both the afternoon and the evening shows. It can be a nerve racking experience to get up in a room full of people- both of the shows were very heartfelt and it was a fantastic way to support the charity.

Joe McElderry- Here's What I BelieveHow would you describe your new album?

I’ve done a lot of song writing myself for the new album, Here's What I Believe so it shows a lot of growth since I have started my career. I would also say that the album is very emotionally connected and I’ve really enjoyed writing the album and working with some great songwriters.

Who did you work with on the new album?

I worked with some fantastic songwriters including Gary Go, Electric and Marcella Detroit of Shakespeare’s Sister. I also worked with a classical pianist who has worked with other artists such as Professor Green. So it was great to get a different mix of song writers to help me write my album.

What is your favourite song off the album?

I have two favourite songs from this album, the first would be 'Here’s What I Believe' and the other is 'What I Have Done' which are songs that I have wrote myself.

When will you be going on tour?

I will be going on tour next year and I'm so excited about it. We are still discussing the capacity of the venues and which locations the tours will be held but I'm looking forward to it!

How did you feel about performing in a customer’s living room for the winner of the BCC auction?

It was very strange!! But I really enjoyed it. It was probably the most random gig I’ve ever done but they were a great audience and we had a lot of fun.
