We're excited to welcome the winner of BBC talent show 'I'd Do Anything' on to QVC on Tuesday 29th June. She'll be performing a track off the new 'The Very Best of Glenn Miller' album live at 9am. We chatted to the musical star to find out more…
What have you been up to in the last year?
This year has been jam-packed! I have recently recorded 'In the Mood' for 'The Very Best of Glenn Miller' which is out now. I bid farewell to 'Oliver!' and the role of Nancy in March and rose to the challenge of finding a Toto for a gala performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's brand new production of the Wizard of Oz.
I also recently opened the Spamalot UK tour, performing up and down the country. Plus, I'm also shooting a brand new comedy drama called 'Candy Cabs' for the BBC - all of which is very exciting!
What was your first job?
I was a nail technician and I also worked in a curtain shop. I'm rubbish with my times tables so tallying up the fabric for the curtains was always a tricky - they were either too full or too short!
What would you have done if you hadn't got into theatre?
I love animals more than anything else and so I would have loved to have been a vet, except I couldn't ever put an animal down.
What are the best productions you have been in?
I love playing The Lady of The Lake (in Spamalot) - she's the love child of Maria Carey and Shirley Bassey, mixed with a sprinkling of drag! Although I have to say, as Oliver! was my starting point, it will always have a big place in my heart.
What is your dream role?
I'd love to appear in 'Gypsy' - everything's coming up roses! I would also love to perform in Vegas.
If you were a QVC presenter, what do you think you could sell?
Don't ask - I've sold all sorts on Blackpool prom!
