Hope all’s well as the big day fast approaches – it’s literally just two weekends before Christmas! Are your decorations up yet? It’s amazing how we all seem to differ in our approach to when to put up the tree etc. As a rule we don’t rush to do this; you may have read in my last blog that Ali & Jack have their joint birthday right at the end of November – so in-keeping with tradition we left their birthday cards up for a little while before I made the traditional climb up into the loft, to extract the ever-growing number of boxes, and transformed Chez Franklin into a festive winter wonderland!
As it’s Ellie’s first Christmas we are taking bets as to how many minutes will pass before the first bauble gets chewed! However, all bets are off as she hasn’t chewed any yet!
If I remember correctly, Toby was very well behaved for his first Christmas but he was much younger (about 12 weeks old) than Ellie is now, and hadn’t entered into full-blown puppy adolescence properly. I’ll report back in the New Year on this score!
We had bought Ellie her own kennel a few weeks ago but Toby took a shine to it and blocked the entrance, so we found Ellie sleeping under bushes! We ordered another and it arrived last week. I quickly assembled it and she took to it immediately – I was half expecting Toby to commandeer that one as well but fortunately he didn’t. Our dogs spend a lot of time in the house with us but being ‘Beardies’ they love the outside, whatever the weather, and we wanted somewhere dry, comfortable and out of drafty winds – it’s not too much to ask, is it! Ellie has a habit of dragging Toby’s bedding out of his Kennel and obviously doesn’t ever put it back!
I did manage to survive the fabulous three hour Festive Food Finale, although I didn’t touch any more food for 48 hours after A combination of great British food and lovely guests made for a really superb end to our Christmas food offerings, although there will still be individual items offered right up to our last shipping day, as well as some other non-Christmas related foods on offer. It’s always worth checking out www.qvcuk.com.
I enjoyed my last pre-Christmas show with the very lovely Tova Borgnine on Wednesday at 5pm, then with Dennis Basso at 8pm. On Friday (tonight) I’ll be presenting an hour of East African luxury with Premier Tanzanite and guest Laurie Wickwire. As we will have seen the final presentation of the TSV for that day I’m hopeful for a One Time Only opportunity in this show! We’ll have to wait and see… in the meantime I couldn’t resist showing off this amazing piece of aspirational luxury boasting a total of 17.7 carats of AAA trillion-cut tanzanite stones with diamonds in an 18ct white gold bracelet, with a QVC price of £12,630!!
It’s a showpiece that most of us could only dream of owning, but I wanted to share it with all our gem and jewellery fans, as it’s Christmas!
An hour later, if you’re looking for a well-balanced, competent and fab-priced laptop from a huge brand, join myself and tech guest Lee Hohbein for our Lenovo Windows 8.1 TSV. It equals the best value laptop Today’s Special Value price ever on QVC, and with maximum Easy Pay of less than £58, it’s bound to be popular! It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB ports and lots more. Lee and I will reveal all (about the laptop!) at midnight.
To wrap up the weekend, Heidi Colosi flies in from the States to guest another unique creation from Lori Greiner. This one is a spinning mirrored Tabletop Jewellery Safekeeper.
This TSV provides somewhere elegant to store all that fabulous QVC jewellery you’ve collected over the years, and is particularly brilliant to help prevent your sterling silver pieces from tarnishing. Great for earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces.
Don’t worry about delivery for Christmas – we’ll be giving plenty of notice of our deadlines for various offers as they get close, which will vary depending on the item.
Until next time – stay safe, warm and merry!
