Our industry jewellery expert on the allure of Gold Day

Juliet Hutton-Squire Juliet Hutton-Squire is a trained goldsmith, jewellery designer and editor of Adorn London, 'the virtual peep-show of all that's hip and happening in the world of jewellery'.

We're delighted that Juliet is joining us this Gold Day to cast her expert opinion on the latest styles and innovations in gold jewellery.

Juliet: It's the season for gold, inspired by the catwalk shows at the top of the spring/summer 2010 season and gold has never looked stronger – and it's here to stay.

This is one metal that has endured the test of time and has come back looking more exciting than ever before. Statement or sentimental, timeless classic or cocktail hour glamour - we're delighted that gold is the new ‘black’ and it's back!

Gold trends from Adorn London Catwalk inspirations

Metallics swept through the 2010 catwalk shows - Dior, Giles, Pringle and Versace flirted with the new-look sheen in floor length grandeur and daytime chic.

Shimmering hues of yellow, white and rose ignited the runway and rekindled a passion for the luscious lustre that has inspired centuries of craftsmen.

Goldsmiths have been exploring new and innovative ways to make gold jewellery exciting and eye-catching, keeping it relevant to our lifestyle and what we wear. QVC's Gold Day is a celebration of just that.

We see the glistening offerings of new and exciting show premieres like Evolution Gold, and more gold treasures from established shows like Colours of Gold, Gold Style, Textures of Gold and Nature's Gold.

Glittering diamond-cutting, lace-like filigree or sparkling stardust finishes enhance the golden charm we have grown to love. This is a day not to be missed, a celebration of the versatility of this precious metal that has adorned the world from Ancient Egyptians, celebrity-style icons, catwalk queens and of course, you and I!

I look forward to seeing you there.
