Pixi Glow Tonic

January’s Beauty Pick of the Month!

Pixi’s Glow Tonic is an exfoliating and skin brightening treatment and toner, which could be described as a ‘power tonic’. This is possibly the most famous product within the Pixi range and can cleverly be used in many ways.

I recommend that you apply a few drops onto a cotton pad, and wipe it over your face once a day after cleansing, to aid in exfoliation, skin brightening and skin balancing. It’s also fantastic if you do get any stubborn areas of rough or dry skin as well as blackheads and congestion, as this lovely tonic can help to unblock the area.

Most people can benefit from using Glow Tonic, however, the frequency of use does need to be adapted to your own skin type and requirements. Although it’s packed with gentle and soothing ingredients such as aloe vera and plant-based extracts, it’s a glycolic acid-based product, so you should start by only using it once a day.

If you have a stubborn area of congestion or pigmentation, you can use it in the affected areas twice a day after cleansing. If you start to notice any adverse reactions, reduce your use to every other day.
Unlike some glycolics, this can be easily slotted into your skincare regime, and you can follow immediately with your normal skincare. It is a great product to add to your regime to help to give your skin a January detox, and spring clean your complexion.

When to use it:

Self-tanning – it’s a fantastic way to prevent self-tan build up. Apply it before tanning to keep your skin smooth and exfoliated, as your tan will look even better on bright and soft skin.

Bumpy arms – if you suffer from ‘chicken skin’ on the back of your arms, apply a few drops onto a cotton pad and massage in before moisturising. The glycolic acid helps to break down dead skin, which is thought to be a primary cause of this skin effect.

Stubble – men can apply Glow Tonic directly onto their beards or stubble without the use of cotton wool, to keep skin underneath healthy and soft. Massage into especially congested areas.

As this is a fantastic supersize offering, you can also apply on the back of your hands, neck and décolletage to help your cream, oil or serum apply a lot easier.

As with any new product, always patch test, and if you have a skincare regime that gives you great results already, then know that you don’t need to add this in – but, if you are looking for something extra that will just kick your skin into behaving in a brighter, fresher way, then this could be the perfect product at a great time of year. Plus, as we are the only retailer of the salon size, it’s also really easy and convenient with the attached pump.

If any younger skins are using it, this has a massive social media following, as it helps dissolve black heads and congestion. Just remember that you must follow with some sort of moisturiser, otherwise skin will become more oily and congested in the future.

So, apply a water-based or light textured moisturiser that has a matte finish after using Glow Tonic, of which we have several, including Decleor Hydra Floral and the Bareminerals Smart Combination Moisturiser. If you have very problematic skin and you’re scared of moisturisers, then choose gel-based treatments such as Decleor Prolagene Energising Gel if you have a lot of sensitivity, scarring and texture, or SBC Propolis Gel if you have a lot of infected spots.

Hi Ali, was just wondering, I see you are selling Pixie products now. About four years ago, I messaged you asking you to look into the range, and you did not reply. So I am just curious as to whether that is the reason you decided to sell it at QVC?
