As I write this I'm looking out on glorious sunshine. As you read this, who knows what the weather is doing! It really can't make up its mind at the moment!
I've turned 40! I'll be honest I was dreading it a little last year, but now that I've reached it I'm not too bothered at all. Until that is when my son was working out how old I'd be when he's 40!
I had a terrific day with my family. I popped down to the Isle of Wight to see Mum and Dad and was lucky to receive some lovely gifts.
Mum always likes to find something a little quirky, so bought me these large playing cards (pictured above)! We love them, although playing Snap is a little tricky!
I'm pleased to say Dad looks really well following his back operation a month or so ago, and when heading back he gave me his homemade fruit cake. It really is out of this world and I'm having trouble leaving it alone.
It was about a foot square to start off with and within a few days… well, you can see what's left. I'm ashamed to say I haven't shared it at all!
So the question is, does life really begin at 40? If so, what have I been doing for the last 39 years?!
Take care and see you soon.
Ps. Time for another slice!!
This week's fact – The nearest major galaxy to our own is Andromeda. Travelling at the speed of light, it would take around 2.2 million years to reach it.
