If you've been reading the presenters' blogs this past week you'll notice a recurring theme – sickness! I must have the constitution of a horse as so far I've managed to dodge 'the QVC flu'! In fact I've only had eight days off sick in fifteen years, which isn't a bad record – I'm now scrabbling around for some wood to touch!
So you may have noticed that I've been on air quite a bit over the last few days. My busy week began with a call to say that poor Pipa had lost her voice – not ideal for a TV presenter – and could I cover for her? Not a problem, especially when I discovered her shows were L'Occitane and the Honora Pearls 10th Anniversary with the lovely Ralph.
After three days on shift I got another call on Thursday, Pipa still had no voice! She was so frustrated as she felt fine but just couldn't make a sound. No worries, as I got to launch another fab Kathy Van Zeeland TSV. Did you manage to get yours? I thought the yellow version was particularly summery.
Cut to later that day and I get yet another call (!) asking if I could do the Lola Rose TSV launch on Saturday night, followed by an email to say that Dale was now sick too so I'd have to do the Rainbow of Gems show by myself!
Thursday evening went well but I was pretty tired heading home and really looking forward to my bed. No more than 25 yards from home I had to slam the anchors on as there was a large tree branch across the road. I jumped out of the car to move it and was succeeding when SNAP… it broke in half and I ended up on my behind on the wet road – I was not amused, and thank goodness it was late so no-one else saw it happen!
I'm now off for a well-earned rest – just thought I should mention that in case you thought I'd succumbed to the lurgy too!
See you all soon,
