So, after a wonderful day out with Jasmine, the next day I headed off to Dorset, and I couldn't have picked a better day as it was over 30 degrees!
I drove down and met up with one of my mates from QVC, and we had a blast. Admittedly we left too late and ended up getting stuck in awful traffic. My favourite place in Dorset is Studland, which can only be reached by ferry, and we had to queue for almost two hours before we could get on it!
Luckily I drive a convertible so we didn't miss out on the sun shining down, but it was still pretty frustrating. We finally got to the beach at around 2pm and had the most fabulous few hours of sunshine, met some great people (everyone was in such a good mood in the sun!) and had a couple of dips in the sea. The water was amazingly warm!
We stayed to watch the sunset, then caught the ferry back and had dinner in at an Italian restaurant that the people we'd met had recommended to try. Then it was back in the car and home to London. I didn't actually get in till 2am, which made for a long day, but it was worth it to spend a few hours on my favourite beach in the world!
My advice would be that if you're planning to travel to the seaside for the day, no matter how early you think you are starting out, start earlier!
Do you know Dorset and Studland? Any suggestions on a route to get to the Isle of Purbeck avoiding the ferry on busy days? I've heard you can go through Wareham, but any native's advice would be more than welcome!
See you soon for Part 3!
