It’s been a busy week! Part 2

Craig on the Studland Beach ferry So, after a wonderful day out with Jasmine, the next day I headed off to Dorset, and I couldn't have picked a better day as it was over 30 degrees!

I drove down and met up with one of my mates from QVC, and we had a blast. Admittedly we left too late and ended up getting stuck in awful traffic. My favourite place in Dorset is Studland, which can only be reached by ferry, and we had to queue for almost two hours before we could get on it!

Luckily I drive a convertible so we didn't miss out on the sun shining down, but it was still pretty frustrating. We finally got to the beach at around 2pm and had the most fabulous few hours of sunshine, met some great people (everyone was in such a good mood in the sun!) and had a couple of dips in the sea. The water was amazingly warm!

The sun sets over Dorset We stayed to watch the sunset, then caught the ferry back and had dinner in at an Italian restaurant that the people we'd met had recommended to try. Then it was back in the car and home to London. I didn't actually get in till 2am, which made for a long day, but it was worth it to spend a few hours on my favourite beach in the world!

My advice would be that if you're planning to travel to the seaside for the day, no matter how early you think you are starting out, start earlier!

Do you know Dorset and Studland? Any suggestions on a route to get to the Isle of Purbeck avoiding the ferry on busy days? I've heard you can go through Wareham, but any native's advice would be more than welcome!

See you soon for Part 3!

Craig. x.

Hi Craig! Glad you had such a great time in Dorset-it’s my favourite part of the world too! When I was a child, mum amd dad took us to Swanage for years and years. It was wonderful. We usually took the ferry from Poole but sometimes we drove round;it adds on about 14 miles, but as the scenery is lovely it doesn’t matter!( I think you drive through Wareham and Corfe). I’m going to Dorset next week for a few days, can’t wait! One of my favourite places is Christchurch, loads of great places to eat. I also love Alum Beach, and there’s a lovely Italian restaurant there. Which route do you think is easiest to get to Dorset(Ringwood),from Purley, near Croydon?preferably avoiding motorways-which I HATE!!!! Take care, Craig, you’re such a cheerful and positive member of the ‘team’! Love watching all of your shows. Love Jill xx

Hi Craig, just read your comments re: Dorset and Studland and also the comment from Jill (posted 30th August). My partner used to tell me about is family holidays in Swanage when he was a boy. We went there together about 5 years ago, and I loved it. Now we go there at least once a year. To me Swanage is a “proper seaside town”, and not far from the stunning Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Dorset rocks..! Karen
