This week's blog is going to come to you in three parts as I've had such a busy time and have lots and lots to tell you. So here's part one!
The week started off with a visit from my gorgeous niece Jasmine. She's six years old and the most lovely, mild mannered and happy little girl ever. I don't get to see her that often, so as she was in London for the school holiday, I was lucky enough to spend the whole day with her.
We started the day off in Battersea Park. I've recently befriended a local dog walker there (as it's only just over the road from work), and he joined us with his seven – yes, seven! – dogs. Jasmine loves animals and particularly dogs, so she was in her element.
She took a real shine to Mabel, the sweetest-tempered, most lovable English bull terrier. As soon as I'm in a position to own a dog I'd love to get an English bull terrier, oh and maybe a couple of Italian greyhounds too.
After our walk we took a trip to the Children's Zoo in the park and spent a good couple of hours wandering around. The highlights were giggling at the meerkats and then doing a bit of crafting, (Dawn Bibby would be SO proud of me!), as Jasmine wanted to make a card for her mum.
Then there was time for a picnic in the sunshine – a gourmet meal of cheese and white bread sarnies, carrot sticks and Petit Filous fromage frais! We had a quick stop to feed the ducks, then popped over the road into the QVC studios.
Jasmine had been asking me all day if we could visit, so I thought 'why not?'. She was fascinated by the cameras and she even got to meet Claudia and Ali Young. And a big thank you to Gemma in Marketing for the QVC teddy bear she gave Jasmine!
All in all it was a great day out to remember for years to come. Do you have a niece, nephew or grandchild you love to spend time with? I'd love to hear your stories of magical days with them.
Lots of love, and look out for Part 2 coming soon!
