It’s autumn!

F120D719-9095-488B-AED3-1D3738CE7942I always know that Autumn has truly arrived when the brambles (blackberries) are ready and this year there is a good ‘ol crop.

In fact I am a bit worried that with such an abundant supply it might be a sign that we are in for a bit of a severe winter (old wives tale?).

I was out yesterday with the dogs and kids so we could replenish our supply of blackberry jelly that we make each year and to secure a stock of berries for the freezer.

It only took about half an hour to gather around 2 kgs but we would have been a bit quicker had Jamie, our oldest dog, not joined in plucking all the low hanging fruit for himself!

Still got a few more to pick and them we will start on the jelly and apple/blackberry gin!  Yum yum.

Simon quit the singing stick to the fruit picking ! My glass just shattered and Betty the dog can’t stop barking at your singing.
