Issues with ordering on on Beauty Day


We want to apologise for any problems you may have experienced when ordering through over the past couple of days. We understand how inconvenient this is for you all, but want to reassure you that we are making every effort to get this resolved as soon as possible. We have found that the problem is more complex than we thought which is why it's taking us longer to resolve than we would like.

We also appreciate that many of you were disappointed that you weren't able to enter our competition (Beauty Day prize draw), so with this in mind anyone who purchased a beauty item on Saturday (by any order platform) will be entered into the draw.

Also as a gesture of goodwill, we will now be offering two prizes instead of one (full details of the second prize will follow shortly). We'd like to wish you the very best of luck in our competition draw.

Once again, we'd like to say how sorry we are for any inconvenience we have caused.

    not a problem, i still managed to order the loccitane one time only through q cut.(phew!!) But there was a moment of panic there thinking i wouldnt be able to get it when it wouldnt load on lol.

    Hi, thankyou for the update.
    The only slight disappointment I had was being unable to use the online ‘3 easy payments’ coupon offered – ‘JULY10’. I tried all day but, obviously, the computers were in meltdown mode. The expiry date was the 11th, but I didn’t notice until too late.
    If it were possible to re-issue these, it would be wonderful!

    At last an explanation! I was sad not to be able to use the 3 easy payment promotion code which was emailed to me (for on-line ordering only and only to be used on Beauty Day). Also why were Customer Services not answering during Saturday evening? – I tried at least 4 times to get through but eventually got fed up listening to the music.

    Yes it was disappointing as I, like Im sure many others received a 3 Easy Pay code email for Beauty Day…although there were real problems trying to order anything, after many, many tries ( I never give up!) I managed to submit my order for my Bare Essentuals online and use my code! Hope other customers managed to do the same? I LOVE Beauty Days, so next time hopefully all will be fine! x

    I had a voucher e mailed to me to be used on Beauty Day – three easy payments, I couldn’t use it which was disappointing. You probably missed several sales as a result.

    Are you also intending to honour the discount codes? I was trying to use the JULY10 code I was sent but due to the difficulties with your website, I ended up only being able to order 1 of the 3 products which I wanted to put on the 3 easy pay. Other items I ordered that day were already on easy pay so those I could ring through. I had the 3 items in my basket, but obviously couldn’t check them out as it seems the system thought I had already put the code in….

    Good to hear that I was not the only person who was unable to take advantage of the online easy pay offer. I tried to order the tsv and 2 other items right up to the last minute before giving up and as a result I did not purchase anything. Very disappointing indeed!

    I and probably many others missed out on one time only offers because of this. Extremely frustrating especially as I had been sent a code for easy pay options which could only be used online!!
    Am sorry QVC but offering 2 prizes in a competition does not compensate me!!!

    I was trying to order on line with my Beauty Day promotional code, some Bare Escentuals actuallly, but couldnt place the order due to tachnical difficulties.
    So, I lost my 3 easy pay as it had to be an online order!

    I really struggled to order via the website on Saturday – and because I wanted to order several items using my online voucher (EasyPay x3), I delayed ordering until the Sunday (11th). I am now extremely disappointed as I now realise that I do not qualify for an entry into the Beauty Day Competition!!

    Just would like to say that I made several calls to Customer Services as a result of this problem you had on Saturday, to order items and to check that items had or had not been plaed due to the error. Unfortunately I was told that there was ‘no problem’??? It would have been helpful if the presenters could have given updates re this.

    I had to wait until the Sunday when the website came back online to order all of the Beauty Day items I wanted. I missed out on a number of OTO’s and easy pay deals and wasted a huge amount of time on the Saturday trying to order online but had to finally give up frustrated and annoyed. To make it fair I think you should include anyone who purchased beauty items on the Saturday or Sunday!

    And what about us who received the special 3 easy pay voucher by email and were not able to order anything? No one mentioned that if you phoned the customer service number they would {If you got the right people} Add it onto the order and you would get the 3 easy payments! I have been shopping with QVCUK for quite a few years with my own membership number and for nearly 15 years {Or more} On my family’s number. I have to say I am very disappointed and upset about not being able to use the 3 easy payments as most of my purchases are beauty!

    I tried on Beauty Day to order an Ojon item which was on the four easy payment plan, but unfortunately because of the online technical issues was unable to complete the order process. I will be unable to order this item now because I cannot afford the whole amount at once. What a shame.

    Thanks for the apology and the extra prize. However, it was a real pain as I always order on the website these days. It would have been helpful for a message to appear saying you were having problems and that would have saved many of us trying to get the site to work, over and over again!! Instead, it was just frustrating…

    my order seemed to go through in the morning, everything apeared as normal on the screen. i came to look at my account yesterday and found it not there so have had to order it again, lucky for me it wasnt sold out. but i dont now get a chance to enter the competition. come on QVC this shouldnt be happening with a company as large as yourselves.

    I too wanted to buy several things and use the 3 easy payment voucher I was sent, but was unable too…missed out on a lot of items especially the TSV….would have been nice if we could have used it on the phone instead as the computer was “down” !!

    Like a lot of other people I tried to order online using my July10 code. I spoke to an operator, who insisted QVC could not honor the code if the order was taken by phone. I went ahead and ordered by phone as it was something I particularly wanted and at the end of the transaction the operator said he would remove the P&P charge as a gesture of goodwill. That was welcome, but I dont think they offered that to everyone and QVC should have had a consistent approach on how they dealt with the problem.

    This is not the first time I have experienced difficulties with the website on busy days,not only is the ordering process affected but item details don’t come up.For those of us who can’t watch all of the shows,the website is the only way we can catch up.
    Perhaps when vouchers are issued they could have a longer extension period,so we’re not all trying to use them at once.
    The customer service operators were extremely helpful and I was eventually able to use mine,but they were clearly inundated as the phone line was taking a long time to be answered.
    On a positive note,A BIG THUMBS UP,to the QVC customer sevice operator,who was charming despite the difficulties they were experiencing along with the customers.

    After all these comments it’s just as well that I decided not to order anything on the Beauty Day as I also would’ve had to also miss out on some lovely things that I could wanted. However, can all at QVC team say that this Techical prob be ironed out before the busiest time of ordering starts as I somehow don’t think that forgiveness can be had the next time.

    well your offer is fine, except that I was not able to order on Saturday due to the problems and so it does not help me at all. This problem left me really disappointed as I missed out on quite a lot and the situation fell far below your usually excellent standards.

    tried to order online the entire day .i was really gutted at missing out on the three easy pay option. was a couple of pricier beauty items i was after and couldnt afford to pay for them in one go. any chance of another easy pay offer to make up for it?

    Now what about us poor people who had a voucher code for beauty day emailed through to us that was only available to use online? I personally had an order for over three hundred pounds on beauty day and the voucher codes would have meant I could purchase it on 3 easy pays. Instead, I had to forego the entire order and will now have to buy the otems in small batches so I can afford them.
    How about giving all us email list customers another voucher to use and hold the beauty day prices for the order?
    Looking forward to Christmas in July……hope the website will be fixed by then.

And also lost my 3 easypay chance as couldn’t use my voucher and wanted to use it sooo much when the OTO for decleor eyes treats was on – so sad i missed it and now £10 more….. Oh….

    I tried all day on Saturday and most of Saturday night to use the promotional voucher and eventually gave up. I did try to use it on Sunday thinking that because QVC were aware of the problems the deadline might have been extended, but alas no luck! I do think you could have extended the deadline into Sunday when you were aware of the problems, as a gesture of goodwill to all the web customers.

    Like everyone else, I was dissapointed that I could not use my JULY10 promotional code on Saturday. Are we going to get another one as compensation that we can use soon? It would be a nice gesture as the fault was entirely QVC’s. I was also told that I could not use it for a telephone order.

    I too was disappointed with the website on Saturday. I phoned Customer Services Saturday lunchtime to be told that the website would be up and running by the afternoon and that I couldn’t use my voucher over the phone. After trying late afternoon and into the evening I finally cracked and called customer service again this time I was allowed to use my voucher which I was happy to hear. I was also trying to watch some items on video but had no luck. I think I would have bought more items if I had been able to review a few more products. But thank you for the voucher anyway.

    I would have thought the best thing to do would be to make the voucher live again so we can all get the benefit if a little late!

    I think that it is really unfair that some people have been allowed to use their Beauty Day promotional voucher on the day or afterwards and others had good will gestures offered them…. why not everybody!!???
    After all we all must have received vouchers, or we would not be on here.
    Surely, as a company, QVC should have been aware of the possible volume of people purchasing online to use their voucher codes, especially on beauty products.
    Maybe this will be a lesson learned for future promotions…. best not to get your ladies or gents, who purchase beauty products upset!!!

    This website it not the most reliable! Apart from Saturday’s problems I have previously made orders which have gone through online, I have received a confirmation that the order was placed, and then have gone to my account to check the date of despatch and found that the order has not been placed at all. When I have called customer services to query they have said that there is no record of the order despite me having a confirmation. This has now happened three times and makes me want to just give up. I think you really need to sort your website out especially as you keep promoting it on tv!

    Being sent an email offering `3 Easy Pays` is no good unless the online system is working.
    I`m not interested in prize draws that dosen`t make up for missing out on Beauty Day, seems I missed out too on not trying to use the JULY10 code on the phone I may have been one of the lucky ones…..such inconsistency in an organisation the size of QVC isn`t good!!! I feel short changed!!

    I also had problems ordering online, but as stated in a previous comment, QVC’s way of handling the problem makes me forgive everything! I also tried Ideal World – once, and once only. A nightmare to deal with and shockingly poor customer service. QVC is still streets ahead, with or without the odd technical hitch.

    This was so frustrating, there should have been a notice on the website warning of the difficulties and there should have been regular information given out on air about the situation. I eventually placed my order with customer services who took forever to answer the phone. I would have ordered other things through the day but I couldn’t face the hassle!Lessons to be learnt here!

    I too feel the same as many of the other QVC customers who have emailed in …. Very unhappy that I was told I could not use my code via phone …. when I had given up trying to order via the web … !!! I do feel that QVC were too slow in getting the presenters to acknowledge that there Was a problem with the website… I do hope that QVC aren’t getting too big for their boots and are going to start letting us Customers of 15+ years down … :0( A chance to use the 3 x Easy Pay Code again via the web is the VERY least that they can do I think …. ?

    It was quite frustrating so I rang Customer Services and with Pippas voice ringing in my head lol I did eventually get through to a very nice Girl who accepted my order and Code with no problem. I made an order online on Sunday without the Code when the problems were resolved and even better it was on four easy payments even better !!!

    I am glad to see an apology and explantion from QVC for the problems on Saturday. I tried to use my JULY10 code throughout the day on Saturday but then went out in the evening and still hadn’t got through. I rang Customer Services the following morning and my main complaint was that when speaking to the operator he acted as if he wasn’t aware of the problem at all. I am quite suprised now to hear that so many people were having problems as I then spoke to another operator late on Sunday night and she also acted as if she didn’t know anything about the problems on the website. In the end I was able to use my code over the phone on Sunday night but even then, I felt that I had to push for this to happen.
    My main point to QVC would be that they need to brief operators asap on an official line that everyone is aware of and customers given prompt and consistent guidance.

    would just like to say that customer services were very helpful on beauty day when you were having trouble with the website, had been trying to order online all day then eventually phoned customer services they said there was a problem so they took my order over the phone and they said i could use my easypay code, thanks qvc and your excellent customer services who are so freindly and helpful.

    I ordered some ojon by phone early sat that was on easy pay by phone and it was accepted. However when I saw my easy pay code I tried to order some sbc. It wouldn’t let me so I gave up. Was out all day Sunday so tried on Monday and it accepted even though date it had to be used for was 11th.

    I too missed out on my voucher for the easy pay. Every time I tried to access the details of certain items I was told the information was currently unavailable. I tried all day and finally gave so was unable to purchase anything.

    I really thought my PC was to blame. I was unable to get through all day. In the end as I’d wasted so much time, I gave up and switched off. I didn’t have an available ‘phone so was completely stuck. Along with some others I think the problem should have been explained on TV. Otherwise I love QVC and will continue to watch avidly. Jane.

    I had tried all day to use my easy pay voucher. I phoned customer services to see what was happening and they took my order for several items and told me I could use the code just that once with site being down. This is what you call 1st class service, I wish all service centres would follow the very high standard of QVC. Thank you for all your help

    First of all i would like to thank qvc for there help on beauty day? first of all i went on my pc to order the tsv but was unable phoned up customer services how were really helpful as they told me the problem they were having and said did i mind if i tried again in two hours and she checked the stock for me as the colour i wanted was low she put one through and said to phone again after another two hours thats if i could not get though on my pc for the easy payments which i must say i waited four hours to do but kept trying alass i had to phone back and the gentlemen there on the customer service managed to put my order on the easy payments thankyou for doing that i will be shopping again soon and i would like to thank the customer services for there help and i have only sent a couple of things back not your fault all mine?? BUT THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK ON THAT DAY

I spent most of the day trying to place an order for Bare Minerals, went out for the evening and on my return tried again and again. It was so frustrating.     hi i was extremeley dissapointed on beauty day as i was unable to order any items i wanted.i have a limited budget and the three easy pays would have allowed me to stretch my money out so i could afford the upkeep of my beauty regime.feel slightly done and would really appreciate if the vouchers were re-issued in the near future as you would have definate sales from many a customer who did not purchase because of the fault.

    I tried to order Bare Escentuals and was very disappointed as i tried the website all day. We dont all have a landline so it can be expensive to call an 0800 telephone number by mobile, so i always try to use the web for ordering. I have experienced this problem a number of times previously and always when there are queues on the phones – i hope this is able to be sorted as it is very frustrating and on beauty day i missed out on the TSV & QVC missed a sale. Not great service.

    On Beauty Day I finally managed to order an OPI nail colour collection by Qcut that was already on easy pays, but when I opened my parcel today I discovered a completely different product to the one I ordered ! It’ll have to go back!

    I spent a very frustrating Saturday trying to order…finally managed it on Sunday and was able to use my easy pay voucher (thank you), however I missed out on the competition! :-(…….

    thanks for including phone orders on beauty day for competition. i had problems ordering my elemis set, one time only. so i gave up and used the phone. its arrived and im very pleased with it. lol. thanks very much.

    Thanks QVC! Keeping everyone as informed & up to date as possible is the best thing to do when there’s a problem – second to fixing it. 🙂 I felt sorry for the QVC team: they must have lost a lot of sales, and there will be people behind the scenes who are none too happy.
    Have pity on the tech team who were doubtless working flat out to fix it, while dealing with stressed out people from all sides. I’ve never had to fix server/whatever issues of this magnitude, I shouldn’t think any of us on here have.
    Keep us informed, that’s the thing….And good luck with fixing it.

    It was stated that the competition winner would be revealed on QGossip on Monday 12th July,but I can’t see it anywhere?
    I did however manage to order my Arnica gel on the 3 easy pay offer,on the telephone!

    STILL THE BEST SERVICE…. ok there were a few probs on beauty day, i did manage to get what i wanted thanks to the lovely ladies on your order line and customer care. And still got to use the promo code, three easy payments. 🙂

    i had problems ordering as well esp as they were on easy payments would have helped everytime i tried it said unavailable in the end gave up too much of a hassle .

    Was looking forward to using my new opi product only to open the box and find a decleor product in its place.
    Spoke to customer service and sending me a prepaid envelope, he was very helpful.
    Will just have to wait till next week for my nail pollish 🙂

    tried and tried to order a couple of things on beauty day, eventually got fed up and ordered by phone. The person on the phone denied there were any web site problems and also did not allow me to use my web site only promo code. not the high standard of service that we have become accustomed to.

    I was one of the lucky ones and my 3 easy pay code was accepted by customer services ( very pleasant as always, thank you) but the problem with the web page seems to have been going on for quite some time now (well before Beauty Day and is still bad again today at times) and as another lady said it was particularly poor again during the Silver Fiesta so I guess it is affected more during the busy times.During these difficult financial times easy pay is a boon so we all hope you can soon sort these problems and we can go on taking advantage of your generous easy pays at busy as well as quiet times. Not an easy task getting it sorted and not good for business either.

    Luckily a helpful lady at customer services put my 3 easy pays through with no problem (thank you for that and thanks too for the 3 easy pay) as like so many other customers the web page was not playing ball all of Saturday. The problem seems to have been ongoing for quite a while now (well before Beauty Day) and was also particularly bad on the Silver Fiesta evenings. Still bad today again. In fact this is my second try to post a comment!

    I am trying to order a item on 3 easy pays but there still seems to be a problem is so frustrating when you miss out the easy pays they help out so much !!!, how long is this problem likely to go on for QVC must be missing out on alot of orders, and some very disappointed people.
    Please get it sorted.

    I too was unable to use my vourcher for 3 easy pays on Beauty day and also missed out on an Elemis set which I tried to order by the website by time I got too the phone it was sold out. QVC sent me another promotional code yesterday because of this problem, and I thought great, but The website is still having problems, this is valid until the 18th so hopefully will be resolved by then, but reading other comments it seems to have been happening for a while so I wont hold my breath. Please send us one that I can use via the telephone ordering until this problem is resolved.

    I received the new easy payment email good for a couple more days and once again the website for me is not functioning and at times it loops to the page that says call customer service to place order. This is really getting out of hand. QVC just need to shut down the system at night and repair the website. It looks like they are putting in temporary patches since it seems to fail off and on. There is no fail safe system but since QVC is a huge business international it would seem wise to repair the website fast.

    I would like to thank all the staff(both operators and customer services)… who deal with our requests and problems.It is an amazing service ,which will at times does not always get it right, but I have found the staff are always very polite and helpful .. and if they can put it right they will!
    I was phoned on Sunday by Customer Services to ask if I still wanted to order the product I had emailed about….As I said, great service! as it was,I had managed to get through to C/S eventually on the day.
    I do agree though ,the web is less than perfect.QVC has lost many spur of the moment and repeat orders from me, because I have not been able to place an order and I eventually give up;infact I usually end up surfing the net to see if I can get the item else where.
    I like to use the web,but it is a real problem at times .
    Good Luck with the improvements.

    I had difficulty with the website all day during the Liz Earle TSV. I spent ages trying to get an order accepted, then it seemd to accept it twice. I rang Customer Services and got no satisfaction at all. Ended up feeling most frustrated. No sign of any order. Don’t think i will use QVC again. Superior service from LE’s own site.

    I have not had any problem ordering on-line but have found that all the customer comments have gone.
