Is it a dog or a rabbit??

26

Julia's DrawingDue to the popularity of last weeks 'duck', LOL, and especially for Annette and Steve, here is my only other cartoon drawing! It's meant to be a dog, but my daughter Sophie, who has an A level in Art, thinks it looks more like a floppy eared rabbit!?

What do you think? I think she might be biased as her Chinese year sign is the rabbit!

Talking of animals, my Mum finally got her kitten. It's a long story as the one she was hoping to adopt from the RSPCA had gone by the time she got home from her visit with me. But all is well now and she is a proud 'Mummy' to a seven-week-old tabby kitten.

Thanks again for all your name suggestions but in the end Mum chose… Well, why don't you guess? The clue is in the breed! I'll get my nephew to take some pictures and pop them up here next week.

Just a short one today as I'm rushing off to work in a minute. After my 5pm fashion show with the lovely Donna from Cashmasoft, I have a date with Ralph from Honora at 6pm as we kick off his Honora pearl weekend – oh girls I can feel the envy! I hope to see you all there!

Much love,

Julia xx

    Julia,
Love the cartoon, it reminds me of Snoopy the cartoon dog. I also agree with Sophie it does look something like a floppy eared rabbit. It makes me laugh whatever it is. Thank you for finding the chocolate cake recipe for me, wont have time to make it this weekend as we are running some of our Labradors in a Charity Working Test for Help the Heroes. Will let you know how it turns out when I get round to making it. Yes will be watching Honora Pearls, Ralph has some stunning pieces doesnt he, and the colours now are gorgeous, gone are the days when pearls were just white or cream. I have lots of his pieces and they are always commented on.
Have a good weekend, and look forward to some more cartoons.
    Love Jean XX

    Hi Julia
My laptop sadly went to PC heaven recently(thank gawd for my Clickfree) hence the reason i havent left a comment on your last couple of blogs – but i’m now the proud owner of a shiny piano black Acer notebook(last notebook TSV) – love it. Its amazing how we all rely on technology today – i felt bereaft not being able to surf the internet and it made me realize how much shopping i actually do online(food and household/beauty).I’m a 1960’s baby so at times find technology a little(to say the least!!) frightening/daunting but since the bearevment realise i could not live without my computer and the internet, and this new notebook is so compact and (the main thing for me) stylish(i’m a woman afterall??!!). Anyway i hope you are well – i notice from your last few blogs that a lots been happening – i was so disapointed i didnt get to wish your lovely mum a very happy birthday(please let her knowX) and the chocolate cake sounds scrummy(as i’ve told you before i made your choccie cake and can confirm it tasted lovely – too morish though(what the heck we only live once). Lovely to hear that mum has taken reciept of a new kitten – now his or hers name? Ginger,Tabby? put us out of our misery in your next blog eh. Your duck and dog drawings are very B&W – but i think Sophie has a point re the dog could be confused with a rabbit(i think its the long floppy ears).I loved the B&W anniversary shows recently,it was great to have the three easi-pays and it was great to have so many skull pieces(Simon’s skulls all look as if they are smiling which i find attractive)- you mentioned that you were now coming round to the skulls design – what converted you? I’m looking forward to Leighton Denny showing his new collection in two beauty shows today – i’ve already bagged the four piece set with two of his new colours in(the wonders of technology and Q Gossip!!) i’m liking this new “oil on water” trend at the moment. Anyway look after yourself and i’ll see you on QVC soon. Love LindaX

    It’s a dobit Julia, lol!
Can’t wait to see the pictures of your Mum’s kitten. My ‘little tiger’ is sitting on my lap as I blog, he’s like my shadow. Love him to bits, he’s 13 now. I adore cats.
Ralph is lovely but there’s only one silver fox as far as I’m concerned!
    Love

I must say I do think my talents lay elsewhere!!!! The only other thing I can draw is a ballerina’s foot ‘en pointe’, but don’t worry, it won’t be on next weeks blog!

    Hi Jen
Yes my Mum has called her kitten Tabatha ….. Tabby for short. Not very original I know! Apparently she has already taken over, and it’s only been a week!! No photo yet as my nephew ( and his digital camera ) were out on Sunday when she visited.

    Hi Jean
Hope your weekend went well with your labradors! You will be very relieved to hear that I have now exhausted my repertoire of cartoon animals!!!
Ralph was on good form wasn’t he?
I made coffee and walnut cake yesterday for my partner Chris’s birthday, just for a change from chocolate …. don’t tell Ali Young, it’s her favourite.

    Hi Linda
I’m with you – thank goodness for clickfree – the thought of losing some of the stuff I’ve been working on recently fills me with utter horror! So everything is click free’d and on a memory stick – just to be sure!
We bought Chris an Acer laptop for Christmas and he is really happy with it – when he can get on it that is, as Daniel ‘borrows’ it a lot!
You were right with your guess of Tabby, or to use her full name Tabatha! She will definitely be company for mum – looking forward to seeing her, hopefully before she gets too big!
I don’t like all the skull pieces, but I did like the watch he did, and I liked the bat in the recent series of shows – as you say, most of them look like they are smiling! He has a party at his shop next week, so look forward to seeing him then.
Glad you are back ‘up and running’

    Hi Marian
OK – that’s really weird that you called my drawing a dobbit – I was reading all my blog replies ( not aloud I might add ) and Sophie was in the room. Just as I started reading yours she remarked that I should call my creation a dobbit!!!!! Great minds and all that…………
Will post a picture of Tabatha as soon as I have one

    Hello sylvia,
All you girls were spot on with the name for my Mum’s kitten – next time I won’t give such a big clue!!
I saw Ralph on Sunday evening after his show with Jill and he had been in touch with ‘his folks’ in New York. Everything was fine – I hope he managed to get a flight Monday morning.

    Hello Barbara
I got it from Ted Baker – I have had it for about a year but you may still be able to get hold of one ( maybe even at a sale price! ). I thought it worked well with both the blue and the gold sandstone

    Hi Julia
Aaaaw, thanks for the cartoon dog, very similar to mine, but different ears. Like Marian’s description a ‘dobit’, very funny!
Sorry not been on sooner, been laid up with tummy probs, lots of hot water bottles since Saturday. Went to the Drs this morning and wait for it, drove for the very first time….yahoo!!!
Not sure if the problem is with some antibiotics taken for gum infection from the Dentist, or maybe some form of food poisoning after a prawn and pasta salad on Saturday. Anyhow, I’ve been given some ant-acid capsules and told to have a very bland diet, nothing spicey…yuk!
Anyway, back to ‘walter hottle bottle’…goodness knows where that came from, some character from years gone by??
    Take care
    love

Una – your antics on the floor has made me giggle…reminded me of the first time I got on the pilates machine and didn’t know how to get up again. Then getting in and out of the bath is another story LOL!! x

    Hi Berni
It’s an OPI colour called Birthday Babe – I think I brought it back from America but it could well be in one of the kits we do.
    Hope that helps

    Hi Julia
Tummy is feeling a bit better now, thank you, maybe it’s because I got my old juicer out and having an apple, carrot and ginger juice every day…a bit of a pain to wash up afterwards though!
I asked Chris twice to leave the TV recording before he came upstairs and was hoping to watch your show with Marjolein last night whilst eating my porridge this morning, but guess what…it was all switched off when I got up, never mind.
Did another loop of the village yesterday in my car, don’t want to go too far just incase. This morning the front of both thighs are as stiff as anything, Chris thinks it’s because of my legs being in the driving position and using the clutch and accelerator, something I’ve not done since last October…maybe he’s right. Still did my pilates though!

    Hi Annette
I hope Chris wasn’t in too much trouble??
I had my first bowl of porridge of the season yesterday – it was so autumnal! I am a granola girl in the summer.
I’m with you on the juicer – I love the juice but don’t do it as often as I should cos of the clear up – I do freshly squeezed orange juice every morning though ( actually most mornings it’s Chris that does it and I drink it LOL!! )
Glad to hear you are a bit better

    Keep up the good work
