Today (Friday 22nd March) sees the launch of Studio Barse, a range of affordable bronze and gemstone jewellery from designer Melanie Barse Gobril.
The Studio Barse jewellery collection has been created in honour of her great uncle, American artist George Randolph Barse, who is famous for being one of the few artists chosen to decorate the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Melanie is committed to continuing the creative elegance and beauty she has inherited.
We caught up with the lady herself, Melanie Barse Gobril, to tell you more…
Barse jewellery is designer sterling silver and bronze with a focus on uncommon usage of stones, especially through custom cuts and placements. Barse customers love the detail that goes into our jewellery. Every piece designed boasts an unusual detail that reveals my love of aesthetic details.
It all started with getting experience in the jewellery industry- my mother owned a retail store in Fort Worth, Texas. I began searching for unique jewellery to bring to my mother's store.
I searched the world over in Mexico, India, Bali, Thailand – being multi-lingual helped in my endeavours! Once I began bringing jewellery designs that were actually mine, the brand began to really take off. I understand the essence of what makes a piece fashionable and trendy, yet classic and wearable.
Why did you decide to bring this brand to QVC?
I've always loved travel and have visited England frequently. I have family in London and Kent, so I feel at home here (even in my cowboy boots!). It will be exciting to introduce my jewellery to a new audience. I want to be able to share with the viewers of QVC UK the special attributes of Barse jewellery.
Tune in to QVC TV today (Friday 22nd March) at 2pm to see the full collection, but if you can't wait until then, here is a little sneak peek…
