I’m very lucky and fortunate to present numerous jewellery shows for QVC. It’s a real passion of mine and I’ve been lucky enough to design some pieces too.
With the most romantic day of the year looming, Valentine's Day, I’m often asked for ideas on what jewellery would make the perfect gift, so here's a few tips to help you along the way.
When choosing a piece of jewellery I try to look at the designs from the recipient's point of view. Firstly I ask myself, silver or gold, white metal or yellow metal, fashion jewellery or fine jewellery? This will help narrow down the choice and is a great place to start. If a little unsure I try and have a little snoop around their existing collection!
I then ask myself what do they tend to wear? A necklace? If so, is it with or without a pendant? Or maybe a bracelet? If choosing a ring be sure of the ring size and bear in mind which finger it will be worn on (you could always borrow a ring on the quiet and check the ring size).
Many rings can be resized but there are some that can’t be adjusted, especially gemset designs. If in doubt, a gorgeous necklace or bracelet is your safest option. Take into account their favourite colour or their favourite gemstone too.

Good luck in your search and happy Valentine's Day!
