I’m off on holiday!

Ali's cat Willows wants to come too! I have to admit to feeling bone weary at this present moment, having packed two suitcases and written copious notes for Sam re: watering the plants and emergency measures for removing Chicken Pasanda from my beige Berber carpet.

I think it was his gentle promise of keeping in touch  "… as I'll need to know how the washing machine works…" that tipped me over the edge. Oh, that and Willows deciding that she too wouldn't mind coming away with us to sandy beaches and blue waters…

Yes, it's that time again and, as suggested last year, having gazed upon Kefalonia's stunning horizon we are booked into a seaside hotel on that very island for 10 days… flight out at nine this morning! I should be winging my way across some stretch of water when you read this (geography was never my strong point so I haven't a clue which way the plane will be heading).

As promised last year, and in fact any time I leave our fair isle in pursuit of the sun, you will be guaranteed as much if not more of the warm rays than I will receive in my little piece of Greek heaven.

Take good care of yourselves, and I promise I will return bronzed, relaxed and with a collection of memories and photos to share.

Love Ali x x x

I’m sure that you will be relaxing with a cooling libation as I type this. We were attending a wedding in the Cotswolds on Friday as you were winging your way to blue sky, blue sea and white sand. Now back home in Nottingham consulting lists, lists and lists of lists as we will be off to Kos on Wednesday. We won’t be close neighbours but we will be in the same part of the world! Relaxation…… bring it on!! Hope, by the time you read this, you’ll have enjoyed a lovely holiday. Love, Gill x

Hi Susan, A tad more bronzed now I’m happy to say, although we had some pretty wet weather! Claudia had a beautiful son Noah just before I went away although you’ll probably have seen her blog by now. She had all the family with her to share the experience and I know EVERYONE was thrilled :) Will be writing fully in the next few days. Thanks for writing, Love Ali xx

Gill, you’ll get this on your return from Kos, and will I hope have arrived on the back of the showery/stormy weather we had at the beginning of the week. Kos is an island I’ve yet to visit, but have to say we LOVED Kefalonia. Do let me know how your holiday was, and I should be able to post some photos up in the next few days. Love Ali xx

Thanks Steven, we did have a lovely time, and the island was spectacular. Not much longer for you now, and I hope the weather will be excellent. A little browner than I was before I left, so a happy bunny :) Love Ali xx

Not long at all now Ali. I am counting the days! Was in the pub yesterday for the England game. How far over the line was it! Apart from that the old Germans thoroughly deserved it I’m afraid.
    Take care x

Hi Ali, glad you’re home safe and sound. Had to laugh, you said it – that every time you go away the sun comes out here, and right on cue it did. It came out and stayed out. Poor Sam, his arm must be hurting something wrotten with all that watering he’s been doing in the last week.
As for my England flags in the window, they came in handy after all this week. They acted as very good sun shades and kept the sun out of my front room, which was very handy. The room is still a touch dark, but at least it is cool.
Glad you and Colin had a lovely time. Hope Ros has a lovely, lovely day and that the weather stays fine for the big day.
Look forward to seeing the photos. Take care, love Gail xx

Steven, couldn’t agree with you more! I still think Performance Related Pay would make the world of difference!!! Let’s see what happens in four years time eh? Take care and keep ticking off the days. :) Love Ali xx

Yup Sammo did a cracking job of keeping the garden watered and even the house plants!!! We could have done with a few of your England flags to keep our kitchen cool though…you do make me laugh :) Sooo excited about Ros’s wedding, but will fill you in tomorrow on the holiday before we get the Big Day itself :) Thanks Gail, lovely to hear from you as always, Love Ali xxx
