I’m dotty over technology and glad to be in the garden!

In the garden!Hello all,

Well, the sun has finally arrived and its glorious. It's remarkable how much better I feel when the sun is out and I know many of you will agree. It certainly gets the green fingered amongst us very excited.

My mum is a great gardener and my late father spent the majority of his working life gardening professionally.

I've always appreciated the beauty of gardening but have never really taken the time to grow anything apart from strawberries.

On setThe presenting team have been set a challenge by Thompson & Morgan! We've each been provided with a pot, compost and a pack of bulbs to grow their new, versatile patio lilies. There is a prize at stake; the new lily will be named after the winning presenter who will also be treated to a plant soaked day out! I've got to be honest, I'm a little late planting mine as I wasn't sure how easy it was going to be but I wish I'd done it sooner! The winner will be judged by the Thompson & Morgan horticultural team at the end of July so look out for everyone's efforts.

On Sunday I presented the first of my series of technology shows, Technology and You with Catherine Huntley. I loved it! We had a great line up of guests and outrageously good products to suit all tastes. Lee Hohbein, Mat Trim & Hannah Gray all really took their time explaining and fielding questions put to them by our very own social media socialite, Will Gowing.

Will was on hand to keep an eye on any queries sent in to @qvcuk on twitter, our Facebook page and our email address technologyandyou@qvc.com which was created especially for the show. Please feel free to keep in touch and we'll answer either live or within a few days via email.

Emma Bridgewater RadioI thought I'd give you a sneak peek at something very girly I felt we should bring you this coming Sunday in the second show (Sunday at 11am).

Great British designer, Emma Bridgewater brings us this completely awesome DAB radio which also serves as an iPhone and iPod docking station so you can play your music through the speakers of the radio! It even charges my iPhone at the same time.

I love the retro design and I also love the fact that by buying we are supporting a family run British company who have been producing beautiful handmade pottery and homeware Radio in the kitchenfor nearly 30 years here in the UK.

Another little tip regarding the technology show…if you're looking for an easier way to get around, on foot and in the car, we have a very specially priced TomTom coming your way with extras included so don't miss it!

Technology and You is on at 11am this Sunday, the 9th of June and Miceal Murphy will be joining me to take your questions & comments online. Thanks so much for the feedback so far. I'm really happy so many of you have learned something new and are eager to see more.

Cats loving the radioEnjoy your week and I'll see you very soon!

Love Catherine x

    Hi John,
Thanks for your message. You’ve made me want to eat strawberries now, haha! Can’t wait for it to feel like summer.
I’m really enjoying my new show, thanks. It’s a great team effort and I think it’s really helping people to understand technology and make well informed decisions about their purchases, too.
I hope you get some strawbs in your garden soon.
    Love Catherine x

Hi Catherine being a 29 year old guy you can imagine I’ve not exactly found my ‘green fingers’ yet but I certainly agree that the sun makes you feel a lot better. I live in Scotland so we dont get to see a lot of it but we have had a decent spell lately!
Would also like to add I Love your style of presenting. The technology shows have been a real help when considering different types of software/hardware to purchase and the prices as always with QVC are very decent.
Take care and keep enjoing the sun!
Oh and happy belated birthday too. Hope you had a lovely day
    Take care xx

    Hi Steven,
Thanks so much for your message. Plenty of time yet for your fingers to turn green! I think gardening is something which improves with age.
Really appreciate your feedback on the new technology shows! Fingers crossed we’ll do another series soon. Our final show in this mini series is this Saturday at 11am so don’t miss it if you can help it.
Thanks also for the belated birthday wishes. I had a great time.

    Hi Diane,
What a lovely message! Thanks for writing in. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the show. I have to stop myself being too silly at times, ha ha!

I hope you’re enjoying the summer. Not much great weather but at least it’s warm enough to go without a coat, at last!
